Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Amongst the snow carpeted grounds of winter, a boy of raven hair and fine skin was born; the third child and first boy to Pyotr and Elizaveta Borovsky, he’d turn out to be their only boy and heir after his father, displacing his two older sisters Viktoriya and Tatyana who were seven and four at the time of Aleksandr’s birth. He was the boy Elizaveta always wanted; she cherished her daughters with all her heart, but she knew it was a boy she must produce in order to continue the family line. She knew the importance of the family workings; herself coming from a pureblooded elite family in central Russia. Her instant love for her son would prevail above all others; she made sure she could see her baby boy at all times. Often dismissing the nanny so she could care for him herself.

Six months following his birth, Aleksandr was formally baptised into the Catholic Faith as Aleksandr Lazar Vitali Borovsky; the second Borovsky to be named Aleksandr. It began his strong ties with the faith. Brought up in a Catholic family, who abided by tradition and lore, Aleksandr surely became a practicing Catholic. His First Holy Communion was celebrated with a lavish ceremony, mass and a gathering of the social elite following, in which his grandfather gave him golden pocket watch, which Aleksandr keeps safe, it had been given to him by his grandfather.

His relationship with his father has always been strong; at a young age, he would take his son out on his hunting escapades, they went out into the snow and built forts, or would go out and play some Quidditch. Aleksandr was not an avid fan, but would get caught up in the excitement when he attended games, he was a relatively good player but it did not stick once he left Hogwarts. Therefore, when his father was shot, it affected him greatly. Aleksandr had been there when his father was struck down; the deed done by a stable hand, Aleksandr was only eleven years old. Vikoriya was eighteen, Tatyana fifteen, and now his two younger sisters, Olga was five and Marina just three years old. Aleksandr became direct heir to his grandfather.

Despite losing his father only months before the start of term; Aleksandr decided to head to Hogwarts, having been taught the need for respect, dignity and resilience. His education had started way before Hogwarts, a governess Madame Moreau was employed, a french-russian woman who came with high credentials, she began Aleksandr’s teachings. She would take Aleksandr to the large Borovsky archives, or the library where there she would conduct lessons. Once he arrived at Hogwarts, one would expect him to have been sorted into Ravenclaw for his already acquired knowledge, but it was Slytherin that the sorting hat placed him into.

Alek exceeded almost every subject; unlike others who had previous lessons, the knowledge he held apparently stayed with him which he awarded to Madame Moreau and her techniques of teaching. His best subject however was charms, he could produce spells that many of his fellow pupils did not know, or had even heard about. He could often be found in the library, when not socialising or playing some Quidditch. He very much trusted that ‘knowledge was power’. He enjoyed reading, but more so of Russian history and how muggles and wizard mixed, but also politics, he took a keen eye to how the system worked. How he could beat it.

Upon graduating in 1945, top of his year, he enrolled at the St. Augustine Institute of Magic; a further educational studies institute that gives witches and wizards to further their knowledge. Located in Central London it forced Alek to move there permanently, he purchased an apartment in Mayfair.

Roleplay:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
The weather was moderately warm, clouds hugged the sky yet did not allow their contents to fall, a mild grey, the intangible arms of the sun penetrating the clouds, allowing beams of light to cast shadows across the cobbled street. Alek had come to Diagon Alley on shopping purposes, not to be hassled. He needed resources, new quills and some ink, maybe even some more parchment just encase.

The busyness of Diagon Alley was not unknown, or alien to Aleksandr, but he was not used to the hassling of the stupid woman. Aleksandr liked his peace when he took to Diagon Alley, at least if he was on his own, he did not need obstacles, he did not need women nor men screaming in his ear. He didn’t care if the voice was directed at him, or someone next to him; he really was not in the mood for interaction with a journalist of all people.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

His feet stopped; neck slowly craning around to see the woman on the floor, heel snapped off, broken shoe still attached to her foot. Several pages of parchment lay scattered across the ground, her quill by her side. A mess. An unimportant mess at that; just another distraction from his daily doings. He did not have the time nor the capability to give any merit to her falling. It was her fault; she should have known how unsteady the ground of Diagon Alley was.

If she was smart enough, she would have known not to wear heels. It was evident she wasn’t that smart.

“You should have worn better shoes, Miss” He sounded, simply looking down at her. Did he help her or not?
