→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Adeline Elise Carmondy

Birthday: April 23, 1952

Hometown: Purbeck, UK

Bloodline:
Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): First (or second)

Biography:
The first most important thing to know about Addie is that she loves her family more than anything else in the entire world. Her dad is a super cool quidditch coach who teaches her about plants and flying and animals. Her mum is pretty and super smart and can make any potion you want and tells her all the best stories. Her brother is super cool and he acts like she’s a really big pain in the behind, but she can tell that he actually loves her. And of course, the dog and her cat. They’re family too.

The second most important thing is that she has the best friends in the whole world. They’re all such strange, silly creatures and she’s so lucky to have them in her life. She can’t wait to be able to go to school with them and live with some of them and get to see them and hug them and love them every single day.

The third most important thing is the spirits. They’re everywhere, all the time, but she’s never met anyone else who can see them like she can. Most of them are just happy for company and she doesn’t mind. But there are two that stay with her all the time. Her ghosts, as she calls them, though they’re not quite ghosts. She doesn’t know what they are, really, because that would involve talking about them and she doesn’t like that. She doesn’t mind people knowing they’re there or interacting with them, but she doesn’t talk about who they are or why she sees them because it makes her feel all weird inside. Except maybe with Mara.

The fourth most important thing is that her cat’s name is Snowflake and yes, you can pet him.

The fifth most important thing is that Addie wants to be an artist when she grows up. She’s been taking drawing and painting classes since she was little and she thinks she’s getting really good. Or maybe she’ll be a quidditch player like her papa. Or make potions like her mum. Or maybe she’ll run away to a little cottage on the lake with Mara and they’ll farm their own food and make art and read books and have cats.

There’s more important things than just those, but those are the most important. Addie just has lots of really good things in her life and loves everything and everyone. And now she’s going to get to go to Hogwarts and she’s sure that she will love that too.

House Request: I'd say surprise me, but we all know where all my characters end up going  :P

Personality:
Addie comes from a family of strong personalities, but she never developed one. She never needed to, with so many people to protect her. She’s sweet and kind and just wants to give you hugs and see you smile. She’s overly affectionate and easily hurt when you turn on her. She loves her friends and doesn’t understand when people don’t want to be friends because who doesn’t want more friends? She’s often lost in daydreams and fantasy, even when she should really be paying attention.

She loves art and flowers and kittens and hugs and friends and pretty dresses and sunshine and really anything that’s pretty or soft or nice. There isn’t much she doesn’t like because she can usually find the good in anything, but mean people would definitely top the list.

Appearance:
Addie loves to look pretty. She’s always a little more done up than she needs to be, a little dressier than the occasion calls for. After all, what’s the point of owning pretty dresses if you never wear them? Her long blonde hair is always neat, usually flowing down her back and she loves picking out the perfect accessories to go with her outfit. She's not allowed to wear make up yet, given that she's only eleven, but she practices when no one is looking to make sure she can do it extra nice when she is allowed.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

"But I don't want to," Addie whined as they turned the corner.

Oran didn't look like he was going to back down on this one though. He was one of those types, the ones who believed that homework was important and that friends were less important. As such, he thought she should be doing her transfiguration homework. Addie thought that she should go see Mara.

"Okay, what if I..."

But she stopped when another voice that wasn't from her spirit friend caught her attention. She moved a little quicker, turning another corner until she saw the girl up ahead.

Who was Emma Birch though? Not someone that Addie could see.

"She's not here," she told the girl, with a smile. Maybe this Emma Birch was just hiding, but the girl sounded scared and Addie didn't want her to be scared anymore. So Emma Birch could just not be there and then she would feel better. "It's just you and me and Oran. You probably can't see him, but he says hi."

Oran looked surprised. He hadn't been waving. But Addie wanted him to sound friendly.

"My name is Addie. What's your name? I really like your hair. Do you want to go get some ice cream with me?"

Biography: (100 words minimum.)
The most important thing to know about Adeline Carmondy is that she loves her dad, her mum, and her brother more than anything. Her dad was the best quidditch player in the entire world, but he got hurt and now he teaches other people to be the best quidditch players. Her mum makes potions that smell icky but always make her feel better, and knows all the best stories about princesses and castles. And Jackson can be mean sometimes, but he also takes her flying and makes sure that no one is mean to her when they’re out playing. She knows that they’re not perfect, that her brother can hurt her for no reason and that sometimes her mum and dad talk about things that sound scary when they think she isn’t listening, but she doesn’t care. She loves them anyway. And the two dogs, of course.

The second most important thing about Adeline Carmondy is that she really wants a cat. Her parents said that she could maybe have one when she’s older. Getting older is taking a long time though.

The third most important thing about Adeline Carmondy is that she wants to grow up to be a quidditch player, just like her dad. Or a queen. Either will do.

Of the two Carmondy children, Addie has always been more reserved, more quiet, and more easy going. But don’t let her sweet nature fool you - Addie is the daughter of two people who fought like hell to get to where they are and she’s no different. Or so everyone assumes since so far, her family has been there to stand up for her. She’s only five after all. She does seem to like stories where the princesses kick behind and defeat dragons, so that is taken as a good sign. But if everyone was being completely honest, they’d admit that Addie was more the sort to run for help than to jump in, and sometimes she doesn’t even notice at all, too caught up with what’s going on her in own world. She’s always been a bit absent-minded, and a bit impatient, for that matter. Though at five, what do people expect?

She’ll grow out of it, of course.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Addie watched as Papa held onto Jacky’s broom, animatedly explaining something or other about flying. That had been the whole point of coming out today, to help her brother work on something or other. She, of course, had insisted on coming along, but she was beginning to regret it now. It wasn’t so much fun when you were only allowed to ride the stupid, kid broom that kept you close to the ground. It really wasn’t fair that Jacky got to ride a real broom and she didn’t. He was only four years older than her.

She reached down to pick a buttercup from where they grew in the field. Her mum said that if you held it under your chin and your chin glowed yellow, it meant that you liked butter. Addie thought that was stupid, because who didn’t like butter? But she liked the little yellow flowers anyway. She stuck the one she picked into the French braid her mum had done that morning, before grabbing a couple more to weave into her hair. She was going to look like a princess.

"You!"

Addie looked up alarmed at the harsh tone. Was that girl talking to her? She didn’t like the way she said that. Maybe that girl was mean. She sounded mean.

But an invitation to play was tempting, especially when she wasn’t being included in what Jacky and Papa were doing. Playing was always more fun with other people.

“Maybe,” she said, nervously watching the other girl. What if she was mean? But Mama said that most people weren’t mean, and just seemed it. Mama knew lots about mean people. “Do you want to play princesses, since you’re mad at your broom?”

She was assume the girl was, anyway. Why else would be have stuck it in the ground like that?
