Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name:
Emerys Lilian Io Morcom

Birthday:
6 March, 1939

Hometown:
(before) Reading, England (now) Bletchley, England

Bloodline:
Muggleborn

Magical Strength (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two):
Preferably 1st or, if I can’t, 2nd year

Biography:

Emerys was a muggleborn. There’s nothing wrong with that in the wizarding world (or so she thought), but she was born with muggle parents, in the muggle world. Everyone thought that there was something wrong with her, especially her parents. It would drive her parents insane when she would suddenly do something like breaking a glass cup or the whole house would just suddenly start to shake suddenly when she was being threatened by her parents to the point where she would get too scared or angry that she couldn't move.

She didn’t stay with her parents for long though. On one winter night, she had finally snapped. Her parents started to insult her calling her unpleasant names, saying that they despised her and wished they never had her. She snapped. Everything started to shake and the house ended up in a complete wreck with her parents holding onto the walls and each other, afraid for their lives. The next day, she found her things all packed in one small suitcase and a person coming to take her away from them. She was being transported to Bletchley from London, nearby Bletchley Park. Ever since she was moved there, she took interest in a lot of things like ranging from normal subjects like music, science, mathematics etc. To quite eccentric subjects like astronomy, magical creatures and a lot other subjects. Learning new things was the only thing that could really distract her from the bad things that was happening in her life.

It didn’t really change when she was in school as well, maybe a little worse. Teachers were either afraid (because of unfortunate accidents) or strict to her and only her. But it was nothing compared to the students, they would do horrible things like take her things and put them in places like toilets, trees, etc. Those things that happened in he hone town continued to follow her to the school in Bletchley and the orphanage she was now living in. Those appalling acts just made her into the person she is today: anti-social, pessimistic and apathetic.

Though a lot of bad things happened in her life, it completely changed as soon as she got her Hogwarts letter. For once in her life, she had hope that her life might just be good at something and not seen as freak. All she really wants is to be accepted.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request:
Ravenclaw

Personality:
Tell us a bit about your character’s personality (likes, dislikes, fears, etc.) What are they like on a good day versus a bad one? Is your character particularly cheerful? Do they hate sunlight?

Emerys wasn’t a very optimistic and happy-go-lucky person, to say the least. She was, to strangers/acquaintances, a sarcastic, anti-social and rude (more like brutally honest) person who loved using sardonic humor to relate to the world, and is also brutally honest about almost anything and everything. Also, soo socially awkard, it hurts to see her actually communicate to another human being. Or anything.

And to the people that she considered friends/family, she was slightly kinder and would cheer up slightly. They were small changes but they mattered a lot. She wasn’t a complete bad person to be around with, it had some perks when you’re friends with her. She would definitely defend you and stand up for you if you were ever being bullied or anything like that. She is quite curious about anything interesting and would research everything about it, so you never really see her without a book or a notepad with so much reasearch. You also never really know what you’re going to get with her, her personality is so unnecessarily complex, that she doesn’t even know how to describe her personality.

She had quite the soft spot for people who are bullied and animals. If she ever saw anyone being bullied or a hurt animal, she can't not stay in silence. She also does have habits that tend to make her look crazy like talking to herself whenever she’s concentrating, alone or nervous. She does that in most scenarios, to be honest. Also, if she doesn’t have a notepad and pencil with her, she would just do it ‘write’ it on any surface. And that’s just to name a few, she has a lot wrong with her.

Appearance:

She has short midnight black hair that goes up to her shoulders, her eyes had a glasz (a combination of green, blue, grey, gold) colour. Her thin black-framed circular glasses make her look even more a nerd, though she wouldn't really care. She also has very prominent case of Resting Sad Face (RSF), which causes a lot of people to think that she is quite sad.

When she’s not in her school robes, you will almost likely see her in a white collared button up under a dark blue jumper with some black high waisted cropped pants. And to top it all off, to accompany her normal outfit: her signature beanie or beret (depending on the weather. A lot of the time, people would often mistake her as a boy because of her boyish build and her voice was slightly lower than most girls her age, though she doesn't really care if you can't tell her gender. She would probably go with it.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

Emerys was just peacefully reading her book about the Care of Magical Creatures. She was sitting outside where there wasn't much people and much noise, until he came in.

The boy was stomping towards the rows of flowers and just started to shout at his rat. She did try her best to ignore it, but when you're trying to read a book in peace and then someone starts shouting, it does tend to get annoying and hard to focus on your book.

When she finally had enough, she shot a glare at the fifth year and put her book down, now annoyed that she has to make him stop being loud. She stood up and quickly made her way towards him.

Now that she could see the situation, she looked in the row of flowers to see a gray rat under one of the red flowers. Her glasz eyes behind her circular glasses looked towards the boy to see him wiping his nose on his robes, she frowned disapprovingly before handing him a couple of tissues.

"That's unhygienic if you wipe that on your robes, use these. And keep an eye on your rat, put him in a cage or something."

She commented, her articulate accent coming out. Soon enough, she gave his rat back to him and strolled back to her book.
