Character name: Phaedra Fitzgerald

Previous and/or Current Character(s) if applicable: Vlad, Reagan, Diego & Athy

Character age: 29

Character education: Bauxbatons '32

Strength and weaknesses (details please):

Strengths
Phaedra's strengths mostly come from her mentalities rather than her physical form. She is caring and approachable towards her peers, going out of her way and above and beyond to help those who ask for it. She is an hardworking and creative individual who always strives to do any task to the best of her abilities, even those that she isn't paticularly gifted in. Phaedra is also well travelled, having attended the four corners of the world in search of Astronomical Anomalies for her research she is knowledgeable in anything Astronomy or Astrology related. But over all, it will be her kindness and willingness to help others that will be what defines her as a Professor.

Weaknesses
Phaedra's main weaknesses come from her sheltered upbringing. She is a little quirky and strange, finding certain social situations uncomfortable. Aedra doesn't handle confrontations very well and although she would be brilliant teaching students with the desire to learn, the loud mouthed, abnoxious types could cause her problems. Another problem she has it that she is extremely disorganised and clumbsy, often loosing important documents and day dreamily bumping into doors and tripping over her cat, Andromeda - who follows her around religiously.

Physical description:
Phaedra's look is gothic and vampiric, often drawn towards wearing a lot of black and dark colors. She only wears either dresses or skirts that rest just above the knee, mainly out of habit from her life as a traveller and because she finds trousers too masculine to wear with her extensively tattooed body. As like with her dress sense her make - up is dark but yet subtle, usually made up of a bit of eyeliner and lipstick.

She is curvy, but not paticularly thin and her natural dark hair falls long down her back, although it is rarely let down in public. She usually likes to wear it in fancy up do's with small hair accessories such as butterflies and stars to compliment her outfits and her skin (the parts are visable and not tattooed) are as pale as a fresh blanket of snow.

Personality (nice, rude, funny etc. Paragraph please.):
Phaedra's personality is generally rather odd and full of strange quirks. She is abundantly shy around new people at first, which is often confused as her bieng obnoxious or rude from the way she hides away from direct communication. She is extremely docile and hates debates or any kind of negative confrontations if someone shouted at her she would probibly run away, lock herself in a broom closet and cry for the rest of the day, but that doesn't mean she isn't necessarily tough in other ways. Unlike most people she gets joy and satisfaction from helping others and will go to the ends of the earth to help a friend in need.

She is the opposite of what you would probably expect of her if you was judging her on looks alone.

Hopes and dreams. Why are you teaching at Hogwarts?:
Phaedra had always been interested in Astronomy, since she was a little girl but teaching other children had never been part of the plan. It is her nurturing and helpful side that has bought her to apply for a position at Hogwarts.

She has been writing Astronomy books and researh papers with the odd column in the Daily Prophet over the years, but those jobs seemed to be missing something that she wanted to do most - help others. She wanted a more hands on experience with educating people, and although her books had with no doubt helped peoples interest in Astronomy, she didn't feel she was getting the same sense of satisfaction as she would with becoming a Professor and helping the next generation of witches and wizards.

Biography (500 words minimum. There is never such a thing as too much.):

Phaedras upbringing was rough, she was part of a traveller community from Romania. The community was very male dominant, with the women raising children, cleaning and preparing feasts while the men, been the main breadwinners went out to hunt and provide.

Traditionally, her family was very large. With Phaedra been the second oldest of six children and the only girl, life was incredibly tough for her. She was often pushed out because she was female and was only expected to talk when been directly adressed by her father. At the age of fifthteen her family gave her hand in marrage to another traveller boy in the community, but her older brother Fabian helped her escape before the ceremony took place.

She moved to France, with an estranged aunt and began her education at Bauxbatons. This was where she really began to blossom and come into her own. And although even then she was rediculously shy, she made a handful of friends and enjoyed her education there. She valued education perhaps more because she hadn't known such luxuries in her past.

Just before graduation, there was word that her father was looking for her again. Phaedra was naturally quite scared of her father and feared he would force her hand in marrage again if he found her. And she did not want that, she wanted to make her own decisions - She wanted to marry out of true love

And so, after graduating Phaedra began to travel and see more of the world, marking out certain places on her map for Astronomical Events, mostly in order to dodge her father who was currently trying to track her down. On her travels she found a lost kitten in a box who she adopted and kept as her own, she called her Andromeda and kept her close by as she was the only friend she had at the time - this same cat now follows Aedra everywhere, at her heels.

After these travels, Aedra's farther had died, her aunt had owled her to let her know and finally Phaedra was free to settle down and make a real life for herself. Safe from persuit she published her book and after some success, bought a small home on the outskirts of Knockturn Alley. She wrote a few more Astronomy books until this became boring and extremely lonley, as she would study all night and sleep all day.

This lead to her decision to start courting. After a few small dates and a few harmless kisses but nothing substantial, Phaedra became even more withdrawn. Her ideals of true love and a family of her own, now feeling like a million lightyears away, she gave up on the idea altogether and decided to get back into her work.

Eager to distract her from her soppy romantic ideals she transfered jobs to a position at the Daily Prophet but found the job didn't give her any sense of real accomplishment. She wanted to do something more emotionally rewarding, somehing that would help people on a more personal level, and that was what had lead her to apply for Hogwarts.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
(Please respond to to this in third person past tense. Do not write the other characters' reactions. Only your own.)

It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.

In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.

A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.

Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.

She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."

Explain yourself was what her face said.

Her heels clicked loudly as she approached the final set of stairs to the Headmistresses office. Glancing down at the pocket watch in her hand she pinched the bridge of her nose. Phaedra liked to be punctual, it was good manners and she knew been late for a job interview was never a good thing. It certainly didn't set a good example.

Standing before the door to the office, she took a moment to compose herself, feeling the adrenaline pulse throughout her body and trying to somehow trying to control her nerves.

"You are late."

The expression, or the lack of expression on the ladies face scared her. Phaedra smiled sheepishly, closing the door behind her before allowing her eyes to meet with hers.

"I'm sorry." Her eyes drifted across to the large desk and the shelves upon shelves of books before she continued "I don't often tend to make a habit out of been late... I understand punctuality says a lot about a person."
