Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Aurora Phelps was born to a wizarding family of six in Amsterdam, the youngest of four siblings, and the second daughter. Her maternal grandmother had been a Veela, which made her and her siblings quarter-Veelas of mixed wizarding blood. Her family was of middle class and she grew up surveying the art of Divination- a skill at which she flourished, much like her mother Ada. At the age of eleven, Aurora began studying abroad at  Beauxbatons Academy of Magic like her siblings before her.

Her years at the academy were met with success and excitement, as Aurora flew through her classes and applied herself to her work, her ambitions soaring. While not popular, she had a decent amount of companions, and made a few lifelong friends. Upon her graduation, Aurora took to wizarding France for a gap year before finally rooting herself in wizarding England at the age of twenty-one, a place she would come to see as her true home. She eventually became a healer at St. Mungo's, and occasionally suffered financial struggles, though she was more than content with her lifestyle.

The time warp's occurrence affected her life greatly, though not directly. Aurora was unaware of the change, as if nothing had happened, almost as if a wool had been pulled over her eyes- but with the arrival of World War II, everything in her life began to fall apart. Her family members had spread across the continents over time, her sister having stayed in France, her brothers and parents still in their homeland of Amsterdam, suddenly cut off from each other and on different sides of the war.

Isolated from the people that matter most to her, Aurora now more than ever throws herself into her work and does her best to aide those in need of help at the hospital, St. Mungo's. She hopes for the war to come to an end so she can see her family once more.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:

"Arrrgh!"

Aurora gasped lightly as she walked into an elderly man, backing away from their abrupt collision to survey the scene before her. His coat had had tinsel strewn all over it, and his eyes seemed apologetic. Her hands flew up to cover her mouth, suddenly rushing to help the stranger.

"I am so sorry! This blasted snow!"

"Oh Merlin, no! I'm so sorry," she began remorsefully. "It was an accident, I hadn't meant to bump into you. Here, let me help you-" Immediately, Aurora reached to help pick at the stray tinsel on the man's coat, still feeling guilty for not having been watching herself. She was so clumsy! This was the third time in two days that she'd bumped into someone- she never did pay attention to where she was walking.

Picking the last bits of tinsel off of his coat, Aurora smiled. "Alle betere," she said in her native tongue. "I am still sorry. Have a wonderful day!" She waited for a response from the elder, and when she didn't get one, turned to walk away.

"Miss, it's fine, it was all me- I can take care of it." He tried for what he hoped was a nice smile. Aurora nodded slowly, still feeling guilty for not having been watching herself. She was so clumsy!

This was the third time in two days she had bumped into someone. Twiddling her thumbs awkwardly as the man cleaned the tinsel off of himself, she mumbled, "My name is Aurora, by the way, sir."

The elder looked up and again, smiled at the younger, finding her shyness almost amusing. "Joshua," he said. "My name is Joshua." Having cleaned the tinsel off, he said his goodbyes to Aurora and was well on his way moments later.
