She was a Parker, a pureblood, a daughter to Henri and Madeleine, a sister to Caleb and Eloise and an aspiring musician.

Her name was Olivia. Olivia Ava Parker. And to her, failure was never an option. Because of her trait to strive for the taste of success regardless of the cost, she was sorted into Slytherin. The house her entire family was sorted into.

Music was, is and will continue to be Olivia's first love. Eloise, her twin sister, would often complain about the music sheets scattered on her bedroom floor and occasionally, everywhere else in the manor. Olivia's love for music started when she learnt how to play the violin and the piano when she was around 7 years old. She was initially encouraged to do so by her parents. Soon afterwards, she learnt how to act, dance and sing. She learnt how to paint and how to construct stories. She was a multi-talented girl.

There was one time where she joined an Orchestra Competition. Long story short; she lost the competition. She even begged to stay in the competition but as expected, it was to no avail.
Later that week, she found out she was bipolar. At times she'd be kind, cheerful and at others, she would lock herself in her room where she'd stay in for days in a state of overwhelming despair.

Scratching her dark days out and never giving in, she entered again. This time, she took home the trophy and won her parents' hearts.

Her father was the Chief Warlock in the Wizengamot and her mother was the Assistant Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
With both her parents holding such high positions in the Ministry, she and her siblings were expected to be excellent.

She was expected to act and dress like a lady when people were around. She had to hold her head high. She had to be charming and likable in front of certain people. Moments like those, her acting skills came in handy.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request:
Slytherin

Personality:
On the outside she seems like a stuck-up, horrible, cold person who cares for no-one but herself. But really, she is actually quite sweet, loyal and caring. She is hot-headed and her anger is easily triggered. An insult which hurts her the most is being called a slacker. She is very adventurous and brave. However, Liv is quite insecure about herself. Her daring nature often gets her into trouble, whether it's at school, home, or anywhere else. Usually, she will help out others if it's needed.

Appearance:
Olivia has her mother's wavy chestnut brown hair that ends at her shoulders and her father's sharp grey eyes that are framed by long eyelashes. She's significantly tall, around 5"2. In the summer she would often have tanner skin. Her plump lips are a shade of pink and she has high cheekbones. Liv has a button nose similar to her twin sister's.

Olivia knew that voice. It was Bixby. Astrid Bixby. Olivia turned to meet the reporter standing right under her nose. Literally. Olivia has always been taller than most girls - even some of the girls in years above hers. Bixby being one of them.

The question was quite weird and Olivia was surprised the story for tomorrow's paper was the lunch menu. They could have talked about the upcoming game between Slytherin and Ravenclaw or how the Hufflepuff boy almost set the Potions Classroom on fire or something exciting. There was always something exciting happening in Hogwarts!
Clearing her throat before speaking, she said "Um, I think it's fine. I mean, better legs than the heads with eyes still attached. Don't ya think?".

Hi Olivia! Welcome to the site!

Just a few things we'd like you to revisit briefly:
-Can you expand a little upon the circumstances surrounding Olivia's condition? Did her parents take her to see a healer? Did she read a book about Bipolar disorder? Does the school nurse know about her condition? How did it affect her relationship with her family?
-Because we have such a large community of writers and an entire adult community including the Ministry of Magic, it would be very difficult to include Olivia's parents as such high-ranking officials. We would prefer if you could refer to them as a 'high-ranking diplomat' or 'committee head', or something of that nature, since the positions you mentioned are likely already occupied by played characters.
-Can you also expand on your roleplay response? What was Olivia thinking about before Astrid spoke to her? Was she going to class? Skipping class? On her way to lunch? A good rule of thumb is to make your response about the same length as the original post.

Just post your app as a reply to this topic with the revisions above, and we'll take another look!

There was one time where she joined an Orchestra Competition. Long story short; she lost the competition. She even begged to stay in the competition but as expected, it was to no avail.

Days drifted to months, and the other Parkers have seen a drastic change in Olivia. She would be kind and cheerful at times and at others, she'd be shrieking and slapping. She would throw dishes or break quilts and she would even lock herself in her room where she'd stay in for days in a state of overwhelming despair. Eloise would try to consult and soothe her but Olivia just made her shut up. Henri and Madeline would sometimes argue and blame each other for pressurizing the children. Olivia's 'freak-outs' was just too hard to comprehend. They couldn't understand what's wrong. It was no longer the 'perfect' family after all.

They took her to the healer and they found out that Olivia suffered from Bipolar Disorder. A condition that sends her on dizzying swings from depression to mania. It took everyone long enough to soak that in.

Olivia was then sent to a psychologist four times a week so she could learn how to control her strong emotions. School was tough after that but people accepted Olivia for who she was.

Scratching her dark days out and never giving in, she entered the Orchestra Competition again and this time, she took home the trophy and won her parents' hearts.

The thought of blueberry cheesecakes being served at lunch today made Olivia’s heart swell. She loved cheesecakes and she just couldn't wait to get to the Dining Hall to grab one of those delicacies... Out of the blue, a voice coming from behind said, ''What do you think of serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it's a delicacy, but others think it's plain gross.''

“Oh no…” she thought to herself. Olivia knew that voice. It was the same voice that asked her what she thought of newly appointed Head Boy and Girl. “I think the professors have made the right decision this year.” Olivia remembered saying. But the reporter had gotten the opinions mixed up and in the paper the next day, Olivia said that she wasn't so sure about the Head Girl.
The reporter’s name was Astrid Bixby.

Olivia turned to meet the reporter standing right under her nose. Literally. Olivia has always been taller than most girls - even some of the girls in years above hers, Bixby being one of them.

“Answer the girl and be done with it, Liv” she thought to herself.
She knew she has to be careful with her words. Olivia, clearing her throat before speaking, "Um, I think it's fine. I mean, better legs than the heads with eyes still attached. Don't you think?”
