Tuesdays. As far as Rosie was concerned, Tuesday was candy day. She got out of the annex and went to find a kind looking adult. She walked all over the village, stopping on a plump lady with blond hair.
She gave her the biggest doe eyes she could and asked the question, “Missus, I have no money and would love to buy a candy. Can you please give me ten knuts? She looked longingly toward the candy store.
“Aww, honey, here. I don’t know if it’s enough, but it’s something.” She looked sympathetic of the child’s plight, given the depression a few years prior.
Rosie counted the money and brought it to the store. She put the chocolate and the money on the counter and purchased her sweet. She began to eat it, planning how to get food tomorrow.
Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:
Godric Park.
Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.
Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.
It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.
"John, I said
wait up
!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.
Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.
Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby. "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.
"...Do you want to play?"
Roleplay Response:
Rosie was looking at the playing children. She wondered what it would be like to have such a nice toy. She began to imagine what she'd do with it and how she'd get it, when suddenly she heard a shout.
"You!"
Rosie looked around, wondering if someone was coming after her.
"...Do you want to play?"
Rosie began to think... If she agreed, she mightbe able to get a toy, but admitting she had nothing would land her in foster care. She wasn't interested in new parents, maybe a bed or a toy, but not parents. She looked at the girl.
"Hmm... You know what, sure! I love to play! Um... but I don't have a broom, can we play tag, or do you have a broom to spare?" She was desperate to get the girl to agree to giving her a broom. She awaited the girls response.

Heya Rosie! Welcome to Hoggies!
Your application is superb, but there is just one thing we need to talk about before we can accept your lovely darling.
Your biography is beautifully written, but it doesn't tell us much about who Rosalie is. Feel free to keep what you have, but perhaps pepper in some information about Rosie. I know it's difficult when you're dealing with small children, but Rosie seems like she has a past. Having lost both of her parents, we can understand why she is on the street begging for knuts, but perhaps you could reflect that in your bio? Did the plump blonde woman remind her of her mother? Perhaps Tuesday was the day her parents used to take her for sweets? It doesn't need much, just something about who Rosie is on top of what her situation is presently. I hope this was helpful.
Once you've tweaked the bio a bit, just repost your application with the updates below and we'll take another look!

She wondered what happened to her mother, not for the first time. She had long assumed that her mother went away for a family reason, but she never knew. The blonde woman had reminded her of her mother, but so had every woman. She hasn’t had a mother since she was a baby, and all she remembered was a soft voice. But she knew, she knew, her mother was out there looking for her, and Rosie was going to wait until she came.
