Roleplay Response:
Not a VIP, nor any person of Interest was Malikka. Many barely knew her name from graduating classes and yet today, in 1947 she walked with purpose down the streets of wizarding London in Indian silks. The colors were far brighter than the fashions of the western world. Golds, silvers flowers and bright colors shawled her shoulders. Layers upon layers of cloth hung from her yet each one appeared lighter than air.

There had been a wedding - and it were only appropriate she dressed properly for it as per her culture intended. Her footsteps chimed with every step. It was if Vishnu intended today she would put her limited spellcasting to test. For in the midst of her strut a voice cried out distraught.

Merlin's fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”
'How careless' The Indian girl lamented. One needed to be careful in such a busy street. The markets of India would trample this woman before anyone could help. Thankfully they were far from the sun basked nation.

Malikka looked over her shoulder. Sizing up the person in question. There was always an amount of caution with new people. Some were worth her time and others weren't. This one - she assumed were a writer. No other person carried a notepad on their persons without needing to quickly jot down information.

Her nose scrunched before the decision was made to assist. Some publicity may come of this. The sooner she were known, the sooner she could build her clientele.  Impatience was a sin and fortunately for Malikka she were capable of keeping it at bay. Hard work came before she would submit to any others help.

Biography:
Fate and Destiny are complex things.

Peoeple come and go and change like the colors of trafic lights. Always returning to their roots.

Like many British Citizens of her ethnicity. Mallika and her family moved to England during the occupation in India. Her family hailed from Burma where the influence of culture was a constant war between tradition and the imposers of structure. What the colonists saw was barbaric was a song of color and freedom that they did not understand. Magic and religion were more closely tied and witches and wizards alike could go undisturbed selling colorful powders during seasonal holidays.

Mallika's family was such. Her mother a reveered woman able to link two compatiable souls together. The first influence on her as a child were the happy faces when all of her fortunes came true. The handsom man marrying the woman of his life. A business venture going well. And at times, preparing a family for bad news before it were to strike. A future sighted person was supposed to read the signs of all things.

In India, those with such magical talents stuck together.

But one thing was not seen. During a protest in the thirty's on his way home her father was shot down by a British officer. No one the wiser until a letter arrived by neighbour the next morning. A widow of a man was expected many things and before those more fanatic with religion could appease the desres of such traditions bags were packed and a boat were boarded towards the enemies home. For one made peace with their enemies - not their friends.

England was a cold grey place compared to India. Tigers and Elephants were things of art and the 'orient'. The young girl, Mallika stood out in a crowd of white and many made clear of her place in society in the public school system. It was soon she learned to hide her accent and conceal the gifts Ganesh had bestowed upon her. It became clear like weapons her words would need to be wisely chosen to survive.

In school - she was sorted into Slytherin house. Her soft spoken manner but calcluated one that did not attract too much attention from her peers. An average student in all things - her ambitions set low compared to her peers.  That was how she liked it.

After of fortunes. While there was little money in the field it were a pursuit that let her work with people without needing to messy her hand with trvialities. She was fine weaving the threads of fate for others as long as her own remained in tact. Even Muggles liked mushy nonsense about fate.

From 1942-44 she worked many odd jobs within the field of divination and not. Some as a waitress and others as a hostess for people she bared no liking for. Her mask changed as easily as it had when she were young but now the edges and string blended with her skin.  Malikka's ambition's to start her own store in Hogsmeade or the central Diagon Alley. One more costly than the other.

Indians knew one thing - and that were arranging compatiable couples. Her family trade in this regard Malikka thought useful.

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.
