Biography:
«Do you see it?»
Her voice was soft. Nearly like a whisper. Her hand was resting in his dark, curly hair. Kept his head close. She looked down at the young boy who couldn’t take his look away from the pale woman lying on the bed in front of them. Carlo’s eyes started to water. “She is dead,” he whispered.  His aunt nodded slowly. “Yes, she is. She is dead now. But do you see it?” The calmness in her voice made Carlo feel annoyed. Almost angry. “See what? What am I supposed to see?” he asked, raising his 6 year old voice. Alessia stroked his hair. “The beauty,” she said, and as she spoke these words the boy felt a strange calm embrace him. “There is beauty in all things, my child. Even in death. And that’s what your mother wanted for you. To see the beauty in all and everything.”

Carlo grew up in Venice, Italy. His mother raised him till the age of six, when she fell ill and died shortly after. The boy had never known his father, and his mother took the secret of his identity with her to the grave. Luckily her sister Alessia stepped up and took care of her nephew, along with her husband. In their home Carlo had a good childhood – searching for the beauty in all and everything, exploring the Italian cuisine and pursuing his passion for art. The boy sang, played guitar, tailored, sculpted, danced and wrote, but his favorite passion and greatest talent was painting. There were no limits for what wonders he could create on a canvas. Almost like magic, they said…

Then, as the boy started to grow, a letter came to the Italian home. As the content was read it became clear that his mother had more than one secret. Carlo suddenly felt like he didn’t know himself at all, but got comforted by his aunt, telling him that she had always had a feeling. Beauxbatons.. She knew of the place. It would be good for him there..

“You’ll remember to write?”
It was time to leave and aunt Alessia seemed even more stressed than him. “Of course,” he assured with a smile, kissing her cheek. “And I’ll be back before you know it! I can’t stand being away from your lasagne too long,” he added with a blink of an eye. She stroke his cheek with a glowing smile, just like his mother’s. “Mi manchera.” “Lo so..” he calmly replied.

Then he was gone.

........................................

Loosing his bellowed aunt and uncle in the Time Warp. Finding out who is father was – if only just by name. Finding out he had a half-sister – Florence Prothero. Beauxbatons – his only home for several years, the only place he felt safe – attacked and now gone. Carlo barely managed to graduate.

Bits and pieces of a life. Ruins. Questions. More than enough to make a poor young man loose his mind.

And maybe that was exactly what he did?

He found himself in Hogsmeade, England – after being evacuated from France. There had never been feelings of panic in him. Carlo had sensed something coming for quite some time. And after everything else – did it even matter anymore? Not much seemed to.

But there was something. Something the young Italian couldn’t help but notice. The courage and drive of those who had rescued him and so many others. Did Carlo have a purpose? Not really. Not anymore.
Then perhaps he needed to make one. So he did – enlisting for the army.

Roleplay:

Option 2: Improvisation: Please write a suitable first post to fit the specialty and or rank that you are requesting.:

“Dear sister..”

“Dear Florence..”

“Hello Flor…”

Thick, black lines. Curled up paper. Yet again, he stroke it all out. Carlo didn’t even know why he was writing. They had never had the time to become that close, him and his half-sister. Why would she even care about him enlisting? He didn’t know. Still, she was kind of all he had left. The last trace of belonging to something. They had something in common by blood. And that had to mean something, right?

Or did it?

Did anything, anymore?

The young Italian man threw the papers and quill to the side. Buried his face in his hands. He didn’t even know himself anymore. He had been someone back home in Italy. He had been someone at Beauxbatons. Here? Here he was just “the Italian guy”. If even that..

The stream of thoughts and frustration was broken, as Carlo heard footsteps approach the tent. “You’re up for patrol, private.” Instantly on his feet, Carlo saluted and acknowledged the task. Finally, something to keep him busy again.

He would not disappoint, and he needed this. More than he even knew..

Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Shauna O’Callahan

Birthday: June 6th, 1923

Hometown: Limerick, Ireland

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Transfiguration

Year (pick two): 4th or 5th

Biography:
The O’Callahan family is stationed in Ireland, on the same lands they have owned for centuries. A clan of purebloods with a great concern for tradition – family-related ones in particular. Shauna O’Callahan was the second child of Fearghus and Maureen O’Callahan, born two years after her brother Dwayne. The girl’s birth brought a lot of joy to the house, and another great occasion to hold a feast – something the O’Callahan’s were fairly known for. In difference from a lot of other pureblood families, the O’Callahan’s doesn’t think any less of either muggles or halfblood.. Anyone from the house are free to engage in any relation with someone  who is not pureblood, but if they are to do so, they will have to give up their family name, heritage and any titles they might have. Still a part of the family, just not officially as the O’Callahan bloodline is to be kept pure.

Shauna had a good childhood, having practically everything she would want or need, and a big brother who were her best friend in the world. Surely they would fight like any other siblings, but she always felt assured that he really cared dearly for his sister after all. And he meant a lot to her. Even though Dwayne was slightly older, Shauna had no trouble keeping up with him in their early homeschooling years. She was the theoretical one and Dwayne the practical. They were both bright, in different ways.

It was hard for Shauna to watch her brother leave for Hogwarts, even though she was both prepared and happy for him. Oh, how she would beg her mother and father to let her go with him. She could show them all – even though she was younger. But she had to wait. Her time would come.

And so it did. The redhaired O’Callahan girl turned 11 and got her letter from Hogwarts. The eager she felt was unexplainable. All the new things she would learn, the people she would meet and the fact that she would be with her brother again. ‘Cause surely things between them would now go back to how it used to be? But no. Shauna saw her brother at the opening feast, sitting at the Slytherin table. She smiled and waved. Of course she would end up there too. It was there her brother were after all. And they were siblings. But there also was this feeling..

Shauna had closed her eyes as the sorting hat was put on her tiny head. It started talking and.. Kept on talking? It was uncertain. Mumbling about how she would fit nicely in Ravenclaw. But no.. Gryffindor! That was where he placed her. Walking towards her house table she glanced over at her brother, who just sat there with a little smirk on his face. The girl knew that things were never to be the same again.

And she was right. Kids grow up and now she was in a state of rivalry with her brother. She still cared deeply about him, but now there was no way in the world she would say it. Her first years at Hogwarts were an amazing adventure for her. She did well in her classes, spending a lot of time in the library and with her friends. Shauna made tons of them. Purebloods, halfbloods and muggleborns alike. She was a people-person and wanted to help and participate however, and whenever, she could. But there were still room for dislike, even for her. There were these kids who would pick on her for her Irish accent, and that became a touchy spot for her. Shauna had her moments, crying in the bathroom, wishing she was British and talked properly. After that the girl promised herself that she would practice her proper English every day, hiding her Irish tongue.

It had always been clear what she wanted – a career in the Ministry. Exactly what department or position wasn’t important – as long as she helped make a difference. Did something that mattered. But in these times it was hard for a girl to succeed in the way she wanted. It was expected of her to always be quiet and feminine, and when she was of age she was to be married to a man who would take good care of her – or as she saw it; make every decision for her and rule her life. But that wouldn’t happen – not if Shauna could do anything to prevent it..

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Gryffindor (I will have to change her bio if she is sorted otherwise.)

Personality: Shauna is kind, but very opinionated. She has a strong will and will always fight for what she believes in. It’s hard for her to say no to a challenge and she is very competitive – always challenging her older brother while growing up. She’s a bright girl, but even though she likes to read she prefers to be practical. Speed and excitement is something she likes – especially when doing it with others, since she’s a genuine people-person. After being slightly bullied for her Irish accent she got self-cautious and started perfecting her British. Her looks and name gives her away though.

Appearance: Shauna is rather tall and very slim. Her skin is pale and she got some freckles on her nose, which she often tries to hide. The most noticeable thing must be her long red hair though, and her green eyes. Rather typical Irish-looking.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Shauna had enjoyed this Quidditch-match like any other she had seen. It was her favorite sport and she couldn’t help but dream about being one of the players, while watching them fly and have fun. Someday she would – that she swore to herself. If her brother could, she could too – in fact she would be better than him. Way better. She could probably fly much faster too. Yes, that she believed.

Now she’d just finished a meal with some friends and wanted some fresh air. All the cheering was fun, but now it started to give her a headache. And she had homework to do. Lots of it too.

Suddenly a boy who had been walking out of the hall in front of her turned around and started shouting.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Shauna froze for a second and looked at the boy with her big, green eyes. Not really sure what just happened. “I.. I’m..” She muttered something, like on instinct. Then she recognized the boy – it was the one who had dropped the Quaffle, causing his team to lose. “I was just going out for some air,” She said, giving him an assuring look. “..One team always have to lose you know,” she added, in a kind tune. “You shouldn’t beat yourself up about it.”

Ecole Request: Studio Art

Personality:
Growing up in a food-loving Italian family, with his uncle being a chef, Carlo has always loved to cook – and eat! Any kind of physical activity is also a lot of fun for him, and helps let out some of that steam boiling up inside. Cause yes – Carlo can have a short fuse and get really annoyed, especially when it comes to disrespectful and/or narrow-minded people. Art and creation is his biggest passion though and he writes, sings, plays guitar, dances, sculpts and tailors if he gets the chance. His true talent and love lies in painting though, and a blank canvas won’t stay that way for long if Carlo is around. With charisma, respect and good manners Carlo is a people-person. He loves to speak for a crowd and take the lead if it’s wanted. One thing he will not do is step on anyone’s toes or make them uncomfortable – unless they ask for it. It’s important for Carlo to search for the beauty in everything, and he would love to help others do the same.
Some fears of his are to be forced to silence, have his freedom taken away or causing pain to others. Being locked up or in a small space for a longer period of time is not something he deals well with, as he is extremely claustrophobic and has a great need for fresh air. He’s also a perfectionist and struggles a lot with finishing things of – as he always thinks he could have done better.

Appearance:
Carlo is slightly taller than an average boy his age, but not so much that anyone would give it a second thought. His athletic built shows his passion for movement and gives a hint about his rather restless nature. Dark brown, curly hair, reaching slightly below his shoulders frames a face with strong features – a strong jawline, wide smile and dark eyes, with  a both kind and mysterious look.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

“Orange..?” Carlo whispered to himself as he sat in the dining hall, moving the content on his plate around. It had to look rather odd from an outer perspective, but Carlo couldn’t care less. “or verde, perhaps?” he thought to himself, moving some green veggies and taking a bite of his pork chop. It was his latest painting that were stuck on his mind and even though it could really qualify as finished, he still couldn’t let it go. It could always get better. He could always do better. It wasn’t perfect.

Suddenly reality literally came falling back at him as someone tripped and spilled food all over him. He frowned and couldn’t help but smile and laugh a bit as he saw the girl who apologized. “It’s okay,” he assured in the best English of his ability, wiping off some food. Realizing it was his bag she had tripped in. “I shouldn’t have left my bag in the way,” he smiled and made sure it wasn’t blocking the path no more before he turned his look back at the girl. “Can I get you some more? I promise I won’t decorate myself with it again,” he said with a little laugh. “I’m Carlo by the way.”
