Gwynivere Adler is the only daughter of Lily and Oliver Adler, who were the kind of people who were very open minded and accepting. Many other pure-blood families shunned them their “blood traitor” beliefs and their lack of wealth. She often spent her time by herself playing the piano and often would adventure through London by herself. She has a natural talent with Divination and has a very good sense of danger, which is detrimental to her safety because she can sometimes be stupidly fearless. Although she often made her parents worried, they adored her and encouraged her to experiment with magic, even when that included Gwynivere suspending everything in Olivers’s office in the air.
The family lives in a tiny row house. They bought it unfinished and it remained that way due to the family’s lack of money to fix it up. There were doors missing from the cabinets and the bathroom was half painted, but Lily did her best to keep it homey and put a charm on the air to make it perpetually have a faint smell of cinnamon. Gwynivere was particularly fond of the living room, in which she could almost always find her parents reading or chatting.

Gwynivere imitated the hilarious fumble by the Slytherin’s second year chaser as her fellow Gryffindors roared with laughter. High off the excitement of the occasion, she stood up on the bench and started a victory chant, and the other Gryffindors joined in. Up on the bench, she could see a perfect view of the Slytherin table, specifically, a perfect view of the second year chaser whose mess up tonight cost Slytherin the game. James was his name, she recalled. Her stomach dropped when she saw the look of pure sadness on his face. She immediately regretted poking fun at him and awkwardly sat back down, although the other Gryffindors continued the chant. She wished they’d stop.
Suddenly, James stormed out of the Hall. Gwynivere just watched him for a few seconds, until something came over her and she chased after him. “Where are you going Gwyn?” a boy at the table called after her. She didn’t reply. When she had finally caught up to James, they were in an empty corridor. She opened her mouth to say something to him, but he beat her to it. He spun around and shouted “WHAT! Haven’t you ever seen a loser before? Why don’t you just take a picture!” He sounded tough, but his brown eyes shining with tears showed his true feelings. Silence filled the air, and Gwynivere could feel her heart beating rapidly. Without thinking, she opened her arms and gave him a hug.
