Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Caroline Adele Bisset

Birthday: 21 April, 1944

Hometown: Aix-en-Provence, France

Bloodline: Muggleborn

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Divination

Year (pick two): Sixth, Seventh

Biography:

Caroline Bisset is the youngest of Marc and Camille's two children and her arrival three and a half years following Adrien's completed the family. The family was by all means average. Marc was an English professor at a local university, and Camille was a nurse. They genuinely had no idea that there was more beyond the muggle life. Her childhood was fairly uneventful, though there were few occasions marked by events the family could not explain. Things moving when nobody was touching them, glass shattering, Caroline coming out unscathed from falls where she should have been hurt. Not knowing any better, the family brushed it off because they had no other explanation.

Once Caroline turned eleven, the Bisset family received the answers they had needed, though they could hardly believe it. A representative from Beauxbatons came to the family home and revealed the truth about Caroline. She was to be going to Beauxbatons in the fall rather than the school she had been attending. The family was accepting, but shocked nonetheless. It took a couple days for them to fully process the news that they had just received. Even Adrien, the "cooler-than-you" type older brother, was impressed with his younger sister's abilities.

While there was a good amount of culture shock at the beginning, Caroline quickly fit in at Beauxbatons. She couldn't imagine going back to muggle school once she had begun her magical education. She put her effort into her studies, wanting to learn more and more about this world she was now a part of. She often stocked up on books regarding magical subjects for her summer holidays. This curiosity and hunger for new information lead her to be at the higher scoring end of her class. Though she was never truly at the top because her interests were not always in line with what was being covered in the curriculum.

As proud as her parents were of her accomplishments at Beauxbatons, they had to make a very difficult decision. Marc had received an offer to teach a course comparing French and English literature along with other literature courses. The position paid more and was at a prestigious university in Edinburgh, Scotland. Of course, this required relocating the family to Scotland. That meant that Caroline would have to continue her education at Hogwarts. Traveling back and forth to France each time Caroline has to go to and from Beauxbatons was impractical for the family, who could only use muggle transportation.

Caroline was crushed. She was being pulled from a place where she felt she belonged. Though, she knew that this was an opportunity her family could not refuse. Despite her father teaching her English since she was a child, she was nervous to start at a school that was not French, especially because she was coming to the end of her schooling. The topics were more complex and she isn't sure if her vocabulary would keep up. Though, she decided she was going to dive in head first and she had purchased a stack of wizarding books in English to get as caught up as she possibly could.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Ravenclaw, but whatever suits her best is fine!

Personality:

Caroline is very bright in all senses of the word. She is both intelligent and cheerful. She is compassionate, a trait she attributes to her mother. She intends to follow in her footsteps and become a healer. Caroline is rather diligent. She likes to immerse herself in new topics. Overall, she is confident and self-assured. However, starting over at a new school will likely be something she struggles with. She was always charismatic and found it easy to make friends, but that was when she was speaking her native language and before she left her comfort zone.

Additionally, Caroline has a stubborn streak. She holds firm on her convictions and ideas. She often has to have evidence provided why she is not correct. When she is wrong, she will reluctantly admit it, but it is not an easy feat for her. Caroline is easily frustrated. This is especially true when she is learning something new. She hates making mistakes, even though it is inevitable. She can get overwhelmed when she feels that she is not good at something or not picking up quick enough. Realistically, she knows mistakes are a part of learning, but that does not stop her from sulking when she makes them.

She loves sunshine and warm weather, something that seems much less common at her new home. So, she spends whatever time she can outside soaking up the sun whenever it decides to peek through the clouds. The rain isn't much of a problem for Caroline, but she hates the bitter cold. She always starts her day with a cup of tea and she finds coffee too bitter. In her free time, she likes to peruse muggle fashion magazines as she prefers it over wizarding fashion. Caroline has a habit of playing with her hair when she is nervous. She is terrified of bees after accidentally stepping on a nest as a child.

Appearance:

Caroline, for most of her life, has been tall and gangly. Though, by now, she had matured and is proportionate, she had spent years like a baby giraffe. She stopped growing at just over 5'9, making her taller than most girls her age, which is something she learned to embrace. She has a strong bone structure with promanint cheekbones and a sharp jawline, yet these are softened by her small nose and full lips. Her brown hair is left on the longer side and she has a fringe that skims her green eyes, just below her browbone. Her fair skin is smooth and unblemished, thanks to a combination of gentics and her mother drilling the importance of skincare at a young age. It develops a healthy glow in the summer, as she does enjoy spending her time outdoors.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Caroline was taking advantage of the nice weather they were having that day. After she had finished her breakfast, she decided to sit outside and flip through the magazine her mother had just sent her. It was not the warmest day, but the temperature was pleasant enough. She was sat in the grass with her legs crossed, one hand sat on the corner of her page to prevent the breeze from flipping it.

She was reading about which hairstyles suit each face shape despite having no intention to change her own hairstyle. Or she was trying to when she was interrupted by someone calling out.

A frown formed as the boy in question trampled and pushed through the flowers in the gardens. It was a shame as the flowers were quite beautiful in Caroline's opinion. She was sure they would likely not recover from the abuse of being stepped on and mishandled in such a way. Even though they didn't have feelings, Caroline couldn't help but feel a bit of pity towards the plants.

It was the loud sneeze that pulled her from her thoughts and made her focus on the boy who destroyed the flowers.

Caroline's nose scrunched up in disgust as he wiped his nose on his sleeve. That was repulsive. She would be running away too if she was his rat.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Her look of disgust faded being replaced with another frown. There was no reason to speak to her like that. She had been minding her own business until he interrupted.

"It isn't polite to destroy those flowers either. I'm sure it takes a lot of effort to keep the grounds looking as lovely as they do," she countered

She dug in the bag she had beside her for a moment before holding out a tissue as she got up and approached him.

"Take this. It's much cleaner than using your sleeve," she continued.
