Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Alan Richard Noble was born to an English Pureblood Father and Muggle-born mother in Barnet, London. Born into a wizarding family, Alan was no stranger to magic due to early exposure at a young age. Alans Parents Alison and Frederick were considered hard-working multi-taskers working in the Ministry together left usually spent more time working than their son leading the boy to visit his Grandmother Deidre often or 'Nan' for short. Nan became virtually his second mother, knowing more about him than his parents. Alan never had a chance to meet his grandfather as he passed before he was born. Whenever Alan came to visit his Nans bakery, she often told stories of her late husband, explaining how his grandfather had a passion for Alchemy which sparked an interest in potions. Apart from listening to stories, Alan often helped his Nan run a small bakery in Barnet, regularly teaching the young lad to bake and necessary skills like manning the till while she works.

As an only child, Alan grew up with very few people around him caused him to express an interest to go into a muggle school to fill that void of the quiet life he lives. Alan attended and at first was thrilled with the differences between Muggle and Wizarding worlds, fascinated by how these people lived without magic. Still, that fantasy quickly shattered within that same year. Over the years, isolated from his peers and singled out by the older children, they made it a hobby to pick on the below averaged sized Alan. Throughout his early childhood education, the bullying seemed relentless; teaching himself to plan and avoid such engagements overall was an awful experience for young Alan caused him to develop Enochlophobia ( A fear of crowds). This phobia proved troublesome for the rest of his muggle school life, becoming overly cautious and anxious when walking through crowds.

Alan was glad to leave the muggle school once and, after receiving his letter dropping out under the guise, he was transferring to a new school. On his first ride aboard the Hogwarts Express, Alan was still left sore from Muggle School, fearing things would not change though he proved himself wrong when jumping into a compartment with his best friend and future wife, Grace Edwards. Although Alan, sceptical at first, fearing that Grace was just another bully tugging on his gullibility, became fast friends. Although separated between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw houses, they were still close, backing each other whenever they were vulnerable.

During his tenure, Like a bird, Alan slowly taught himself how to fly. The encouragement of his peers supporting his endeavour to overcome the adversity that was his anxiety issues. His tenure in Hogwarts had its ups and downs, but despite the hardship, he overcame it with hard work and dedication.

Few years after leaving school, the pair Grace and Alan tied the knot. Seemingly a loving relationship, it all fell apart rapidly due to miscommunication, lack of interest, and overall rushed relationship leading to a divorce and an interest in others.  The marriage barely lasted a year.

Alone with his Russian blue cat Mimi and a low perspective of the world he lives in due to his divorce. Alan moved into a small flat in London with a room to himself and all his possessions in one space living a routine working at the Ministry as an Auror while working part-time as a baker on the side.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
Alan Noble never liked crowds. Unfortunately, it was a daily occurrence head to overcome on the day today.  Lunchtime considered a quiet time, as he didn't feel the need to walk out and take a break; the shakey nervous man was in a rush, didn't, missing his alarm clock, he didn't have enough time to prepare for a meal.

After five minutes of hyping himself with a pep talk in the lavatory mirror, he finally got up to go outside. Alan found him bustling through the narrow Diagon Alley, bumping into people left and right, whispering apologies to the feet of disgruntled people he stepped on while shuffling through the large crowd.

Suffocated in the crowd, Alan made for the sidewalk to seek refuge and take a breather from the rushing people, assumingly grabbing the same meals they have grabbed on the regular nine to five.

Brushing and readjusting his coat, taking a deep breath, his anxiety built from excusing himself multiple times as he was conscious of how he walked and presented himself, with the idea of being an average functioning adult is an impossible task.

As rows of heads passed by, plucking out the red-headed lady in the middle, demanding time to question people for an article piece or something for the prophet. Alan couldn't quite make out what she was on about due to the loud crowd, chatting and in a hurry to grab a bite to eat.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” at Amelia's words, Alan sprung into action, the crowd frantically dodging past the woman's cries for help bothered him. Although the sight of large crowds left him anxious, he was an expert at wading through crowds due to his consciousness of how he moved.

The Redhaired woman wasn't hard to miss; picking up her shoe off the ground, he kneeled with a nervous grin offering his hand out to lift her from the ground. "I-I-I do-do b-b-b-b-believe t-this is yours, M-M-Miss", he stuttered out his speech impediment never seeming to have left him since Hogwarts as he held out the shoe.

"P-pe-perhaps if you w-wo-would allow me, I-I-I can g-ge-get you out of this crowd" He inspected Amelia for scratches or any kind of injury, waiting for the redheads' permission.

Biography:
Elphias Archibald Randolph was born in Bristol on January 26th 1948, to Klaus and Penelope Randolph. Elph has a little sister, Ingrid, who he helps raise alongside his busy parents when they are out to work.  Coming from a German background life was difficult in Bristol well after World War II had passed as Klaus was a former tank mechanic in the Wehrmacht only having reached England as a POW. Penelope works as a Healer at St Mungo's Hospital; during the Bombing of London despite her families threats to disown her Elph mother helped the muggles who had suffered injuries often under the guise of a nurse.

The locals marginalised people of German background despite clearance by the authorities due to the events of the war. The assumption that all Germans were still loyal to the Nazi Regime. With this fear even in mind and despite being only Half-German Elphs and Ingrid tended to mingle with there own crowd as advised by their father as attempts to make friends with their neighbours resulted in cold stares and ushering the other children away.  Growing up in Bristol was difficult for Elph and Ingrid at times although they got along well with there german counterparts the other children weren't as friendly, often shouting slurs to hurling rocks this didn't bother Elph as much as he was proud of who he was. However, his sister was too young to understand the hatred which the boy was sensitive in that regard.

Following his mother, Penelope's words something even Klaus agreed with due to his service in the war always told Elph this "They can pour drinks on you, the can hurl insults and even throw stones at you but when it comes to family or friends, good reason or not we will stick up for them."
Elphias, parents words were something to live by; every time they had come across the children who picked on them.
Often at times, Elphias tried to talk his way under the advisement of his parents as well as how he felt that violence would just make things worse, although mostly unsuccessful and bullied the boy persisted often making friends out of those who bullied him in the past and was ready to forgive.

Elphias had rarely seen magic aside from when his mother uses it for emergencies or when someone was injured.  Elphias first sign of magic came when he was nine years old, having a habit for sticking up for people who need it, in particular, the German community and his sister.
In this instance, the neighbourhood bullies came in a group harassing Elph sister Ingrid, pushing her, breaking the toys she was playing with and yelled insults directly into the six-year-olds face. From a distance, Elphias knew he couldn't take them but suddenly in his anger rocks from out of nowhere were hurled at the bullies. Coming from all sides, the groups decided to run away and leave Ingrid alone, crying over her broken toy and the insults he approached his sister embracing her and checking if she was ok.  In the chaos, Elph hadn't realised what happened in his first instance of magic, only thinking it must have been another group of children. The second instance of magic came the following day, wanting to help his sister feel better he thought of ways to fix the toy that was in pieces only for it to be restored entirely to what it initially appeared.

The day Penelope found out about the incident from the rocks and to the toy fixing Elph was shocked to hear he had performed magic and learned more about Hogwarts after that instance.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Hufflepuff

Personality:
Reminiscent of his Father who had suffered hatred and abuse during his time and now as a former POW, Elphias has always been a hard worker and enjoys seeing people with smiles on their faces as it means to him that he did something right by making those people feel good. With the attitude of his mother, Elphias often stuck up for people and helped those in need without resorting to his fist, being patient before having to resort to extremes.  Fiercely loyal to his friends he's the first to jump in when trouble comes to them, often playing a mediator before resorting to extremes like violence as it was never an appropriate answer. However, he can be a little too forgiving if someone were to apologise for previous transgressions.

At muggle school, he's not quite attentive in most subjects, often found distracted or daydreaming. Still, when it came too practical lessons, it was easier for him being shown what to do rather than told making it easier to adapt to operating on the field.  Passionate, Elphias often likes to help solve peoples problems, from minor things as well as attempting to fix significant issues whether it's a dispute or a fight which leads to the boy often sticking his nose into something that didn't matter to him.
Elphias thinks all problems can be solved, leading to great disappointment when it doesn't go his way, taking failure to the heart which could leave him spiralling for a couple of days. For example, not being there when a friend needed him most, despite authorities getting involved Elphias took it personally as he wasn't there to defend that friend in need.

Elphias, although taught to be patient, Elph does have a problem for bottling his emotions, often keeping them in and grew up, be told that a man needs to be tough.  Often, his feelings reach a boiling point where raw emotion explodes where it'll cloud most of his judgement, especially if harm came to those Elph cares about he's ready to throw punches. Although he has a mean grip, Elph can't take a hit. After that bottle of emotions is uncorked, Elph tends to lock himself or at the very least keep to himself for a few days, reflecting on what happened becoming increasingly apologetic about his actions.  Without a proper outlet, Elph will continue to have this bad habit of keeping to himself about his problems.

Appearance:
Elphias has a pale complexion growing up near the shores of Bristol left him living with chilly conditions and pasty white skin. Elphias hair distinguished by his peers seen with blonde hair and green eyes often combed to look presentable in front of people or whenever he went to church though generally left it messy look as if he just got out of bed.
Standing at 5'1 (154.94cm) Elph is a grower his father expecting him to grow taller than him in the future who holds at a whopping 6'2 (187.96cm).
Elph has a distinctive laugh when he finds something that greatly amuses him often snorting and sounding like a hyena unintentionally, aware and sensitive about it he often tries to hold it in but eventually is unable to hold it for long.

On the days when he isn't wearing a suit to church or formal gatherings as well as the uniform at Hogwarts, Elph often wears a dark pair of slacks, resized work boots (courtesy of his mother) and a Jean Jacket with a tucked-in shirt underneath. Elph sometimes borrowed cologne from his father which smelled of sweet ginger.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Elphias decided wondering the castle was a brilliant idea this evening. The boy fascinated with what happens when there were no students around what better place than the Dungeons. Hearing rumours of an Emma Birch, a late sixteen-year-old student lurking in the dungeon had piqued Elphias to look in this part of the castle in particular.

It was so creepily quiet in the dark, shivering as if someone was watching him causing him to check his blindside from time to time, a habit he had developed back home in Bristol to avoid bullies through heightened in the dark as his footsteps made him question his surroundings. Not too worried about the professors as he felt getting in trouble was but a mere inconvenience as he was already in trouble for snoozing in Astronomy again as the thought of looking too the stars meant bedtime for him. Elphias said to classmates before leaving his dorm" I'm already in detention, what's the harm of getting caught passed curfew right? besides, I want to know if it's real or not"

Elphs came to a sudden halt as just around the bend he heard footsteps again although this time it was followed by a girl calling out the ghosts name. The girl's caused the boy to jump a little frightened that someone else was down in the dark dungeons, but his curiosity got the better of him as he paced around the corner "Where did you see her? the ghost?!" Elphias' looked at Evangeline after having a quick look around for a particular ghost, the look on her face reminded him of his little sister back home trying her best to put on a brave face.

The boy felt bad considering he acted on impulse jumping out of nowhere would assumingly surprise anyone, feeling apologetic he quickly said: "Sorry, just I thought you saw a ghost heh." Not sure what to say he attempted to comfort Evangeline "Want to look for the ghost together? I mean seeing as we're both looking for it, maybe can tell me your name?" He introduced himself first as if he felt it was polite "I'm Elphias, most call me 'Elph' or 'E', don't worry I'm sure we'll find this ghost, and if the prefects or professors come, I don't mind catching the heat if you need to run to your dorm."  Sticking to his routes, Elphias was always ready to help someone in need even so far as taking heat for a stranger.
