Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Theseus G. Dubois III

Birthday: 13th November 1941

Hometown: Paris, France (moved to London in August 1941)

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Fifth/Sixth

Biography:

Theseus was born the youngest of four children, to the heir of the Dubois Family. Although, nothing was plain sailing when it came to his birth. Gabrielle, his mother, had gone into labour two months early and because of this, she suffered several complications which ultimately led to her passing. This began the turbulent and rather complicated relationship he holds with his father, even to this day.

Despite the relationship being fractured with his father, the relationship he holds with the rest of his family remains loving, caring and protective. Theseus’ closest relationship lies with his grandmother, Florence; seeing the icy spikes her son gave to his child, Florence offered all her love to Theseus, making him almost her favourite grandchild. Every summer he would spend it with his grandparents in the family’s ancestral home in the French countryside, away from the coldness of his father. Even his elder siblings; Beauregard, Angelique and Emeilé compensated their fathers love with their own.

Coming from a prominent pureblood family, Theseus was raised to his station in society, even if his father did not think he should. Theseus spent his youth in the huge grounds of Debois Chateau, attending balls and parties when he came of age, and many commented on his cheery, outgoing, playful nature, many attributes people claimed came from his mother. Florence even enrolled him in ballet classes, although with violin training from the age of five. He would be a prodigy, and despite being drilled to follow orders and commands to attend these classes, he fell in love and he flourished, growing to be the best dancer of his class.

It was no surprise when he recieved his invitation to join Beauxbatons Academy; following in the footsteps of his elder siblings whom were already in attendance. It took him no time to find himself friends, his adventurous personality allowing him to mingle and become popular within his year. One could often find Theseus practicing his ballet in the grounds; of which, he chose over the popular sport of Quidditch. He would attend games, cheering on his team but that was as far as it went. He was not like Beauregard, who was the popular sportsman.

When it came to his fourth year, however, his world was about to be turned upside down. The news reached him when he returned home for the summer to find that his father was shipping himself and his siblings across to the UK. Jacques had been offered a job within the ministry as a French Ambassador, Theseus pleaded to stay with his grandparents in France, but his father had none of it, and that summer, they moved to London and would be enrolled in Hogwarts.

Although, Theseus with his personality was sure to make friends in no time, he did not wish to be away from his grandparents or his friends which he claimed to be more like family. He felt isolated on his island with a father that almost despised him, even fourteen years later.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Leave it up to the hat, surprise me!

Personality: Theseus is particularly artistic; he was trained in the art of ballet and can play the violin, although the latter has become more tiresome, he prefers his dancing to his music. He is considerably outgoing, although can be reserved on days he does not wish to be associated with people. His relationship with his father has taken its toll on him, and doubts do arise, wondering why he was never good enough, and was it really his fault his mother passed?

Appearance: Skinny, blonde and muscular. Theseus is a French beauty, his dancing career has allowed him to remain in fine psychic, although not bulky, Theseus has muscles but he’s not like those boisterous quidditch players, he doesn’t show off his body.  If you’re privy to see it, it would be a pleasant surprise.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

He was still not used to this place yet, he didn’t want to be in his place; it was so far from home, so far from the tranquil serenity of the Beauxbatons Academy. This wasn’t home, this place… it was alien, and Theseus still felt so far out of his comfort zone that he just wanted to bail on this whole place and run back to France. He was so unused to this place that he found himself… well lost.

He must have taken a wrong turn, or down the wrong corridor or something because he was now down the damp staircase, seemingly going deeper and deeper into the earth. The corridors were weird, the walls stunk of moisture, he was almost sure damp was growing.

A hand trailed through his hair as he tried to figure out what he had to do. If he went back up that way, he could follow, try and retrace his steps, but that was the point, he couldn’t particularly remember what steps he had just taken.

"H-h-hello?"..."Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The voice cried, like a ping-pong ball bouncing off the moisture riddled walls. It almost made him jump, spinning around, he was sure the voice had just come from behind him.

“Hello?” He shouted in return. Who even was Emma Birch? “Where the hell am I?”

Maybe this person knew exactly where he was, and a way to get back out of the dark place and up to the surface, he was slowly beginning to shiver, the cold eerie air kissing his bare arms. It had been warm when he was outside, he was just trying to get back to the common room so he could go take a shower, he definitely needed one now being stuck down here.
