Biography:
Esther grew up in a small apartment in Birmingham with a younger sister named Constance, her mother, Arlene, and her father, Rex. Her mother and father were both magical and went to Hogwarts. Esther's father  was a Gryffindor and works a boring desk job in the ministry. Arlene May was a Hufflepuff, but now she sells robes at a shop on Diagon Alley. Constance is a squib and is perfectly happy to live as a muggle. All Esther wants is to be more than her parents expect of her and is ecstatic to receive her Hogwarts letter because she thinks it means she has potential to do something special.

Personality:
Esther is a perfectionist and very persistent although she can be impatient. She tries to be cooperative but she goes her own way. She is cheerful and kind on a good day. However, Esther can sometimes be unforgiving and hard on others because she has high standards for herself due to her parents thinking she won't go far. She fidgets a lot and enjoys sledding, macrame and sailing. She loves astronomy, astrology, and everything to do with the stars. She fears failure, abandonment, and being forgotten.

Appearance:
Esther has shoulder length wavy light brown hair and grayish blue eyes. She is medium height and very plain. Because she looks so ordinary she wants to stand out even more.

Option I:

Esther was walking down another dank corridor after potions class. She had gotten lost after leaving the classroom and was looking for a Slytherin to help her. The dungeons were particularly dislikable in Esther's opinion made worse by the awful stench. Potions class wasn't that fun either. Too smelly.

Esther was just about to go back to the classroom when turned a corner to find a girl about her age. "Hi, do you know where the stairs are? I was coming from potions class and got little lost. Can you help me?" Esther asked hopefully.

The girl looked terrified. Esther guessed the girl hadn't come voluntarily. Thinking she probably wasn't going to get a response, Esther shrugged and continued walking.

Your application looks great, there's just one tiny thing I'd like you to edit before we can get you accepted.

In your RP sample, you have Esther already walk away from the encounter before Evangeline is given a chance to respond. If this were a real thread, Evangeline wouldn't have much to respond with, given that Esther has already ended the interaction with her. If you could rephrase your final phrase ('Esther shrugged and continued walking.') into something more open-ended (e.g. she might pause for a brief moment to wait for a response, or she might consider walking away, or she might even take a step forward to continue walking), that would give Evangeline a chance to reply or even try to stop Esther from leaving before she's too far away.
