Biography:

It was dark; the sun light had now dipped down over the valley, plunging Eira into darkness. She sat at the bottom of the steep hill where she had spent many summer days, her knees up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. The fire she had made was small but ample, the heat a refreshing reminder of her escape from the household that held so little for her. On the eve of her departure the prospect of Hogwarts had been both an exciting and nervous one, she was used to having her younger brother and two sisters around and it would always be good to see Elidir at Hogwarts yet, she began to feel some undesired pressure.

Her family were one for big achievements, scheming and a constant need for a higher status. Eira was a dreamer, the ruthless mentality had been lost on her much to her father’s dismay but then again, she was born at the wrong time and the wrong gender for her father to ever recognise her existence in the first place. It would certainly explain her closeness to those family members younger than her, anger towards her father and the empathy towards her mother and as for her grandmother Camille – the woman hardly remembered Eira at the best of times! Yet, something deep down in her wanted to prove to her father that she can be as successful, if not more than him – without going through your own family first!

She looked around the now ever darkening shadows of the hills and the valleys, her heart racing in rage as her past span around in her head. Who was she kidding? She was no politician or tactician…she was Eira, the girl who makes traps to lure unsuspecting siblings and hunts fairies armed with nothing more than a suction plunger, a pair of old flying goggles and wellies that resembled frogs.

She let out a soft chuckle and remembered a poem she had once read. “Smile and the world smiles with you, weep, and you weep alone”. It caused confusion to her at first, she found the words upsetting, wondering why no one would comfort a person who was weeping. These words would stay with her forever – for if you smile, if Eira smiled – it would make others smile.

Eira uses the power of her imagination to escape her surroundings or to just brighten up her day, usually dragging other people along with her!

Appearance: Long straight blonde hair, usually in a ponytail as Rikku has a tendency to run/skip everywhere, light blue/grey eyes with a single hazel ring around the pupil, slim body build and she stands at 5ft 1 tall.

Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

Blimey, the Great Hall was packed. It seemed like everywhere a guy looked there was some clown waving around a House banner or yelling about the game.

'Can you believe it?' 'No way!' 'This must be the biggest upset in Hogwarts Quidditch history...'

Stupid Quidditch.

James flopped into an empty seat at the end of the table, shoved an empty plate out of the way, and let his head sink onto his crossed arms, squishing his freckled nose down flat against the tabletop. He wasn't sure why he'd even bothered to come here, since he definitely wasn't hungry. He'd probably never eat again, in fact. He didn't deserve to eat. He hadn't stopped in the locker room to change out of his muddy, sweaty uniform after the game either, because he was pretty sure he probably didn't deserve to be clean too; and anyway he couldn't stand to see the looks on his team mates' faces after he blew their chance at winning one of the biggest games they had ever played.

Just one lousy shot. That's all it would have taken. If he could have just got that one stupid foul shot to go through that one stupid hoop, they could have won and he wouldn't have been the biggest blockhead in the entire school.

As if to prove the point, half the people at the next table suddenly broke into a loud victory chant. James pressed his face further into his arms to hide the bright red blotches he could feel creeping up his cheeks. That was it. He was just going to have to run away and move to Nova Scotia. He'd just cost the three-year-in-a-row Champions the Quidditch Cup! How do you ever live that one down for crying out loud? He was only a second year and he was going to spend the rest of his life as 'that dumb cry-baby kid who dropped the Quaffle!'

It felt like every set of eyes in the room was boring into him, and James couldn't stand it anymore. He jerked himself back up from the table and stomped right back out of the Hall the same way he had come in. As he stormed into the quieter hallway outside, he could hear footsteps somewhere behind him. James rounded on the sound and began to shout, his brown eyes shining with tears. "WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Response:

Her heart was still racing from the quidditch, such an incredible game, she screamed and yelled and cheered until she physically couldn’t exhale any more loud noises! Granted, a lucky missed shot would’ve changed the outcome but that didn’t matter now! Her house had caused an upset and the stands roared when the snitch was caught, proceeded by a flood of cheering, jeering and everything in between as the tidal wave of students made their way to the grand hall and celebrated.

Eira had been talking to a couple of her friends when she noticed the lonely figure walk in, at first she had paid no heed to the character and continued talking but it was when she looked over her shoulder again to see the slumped figure wore the other teams colours. She had been so caught up in the celebrations, she had forgotten all about the other house.

“I’ll be right back” she said to the small group she had turned away from and made her way towards the boy. As she approached, the figure stood rapidly upright and marched off down the hall. Was that? Was that who she thought it was? She quickened her pace for a moment of so before grinding to a halt.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

A kind smile spread across her face, her suspicions were correct. She had seen the boy before though this was the first time she had actually talked to him.

“Oh James, don’t be silly – you missed a shot but you played so well!” she said as she slowly approached him “besides, how many second years play for their quidditch team? You’ll look back at this next year a laugh!”

Smile and the world smiles with you, weep, you weep alone.
