Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Born the middle child of not three but five, Tobias's childhood was not one of great ease - or, in very truth, quiet. His father was a Ministry man who spent very little of his time at home and his mother stayed at their large house and looked after Tobias and his three brothers and sister full time. The family were - for the most part - well off, and Tobias spent his growing days amongst luxury. However, with five children and a grand but very much limited amount of cash, it was inevitable that each child was not going to get much and, when Tobias turned eighteen, his share of the family cash (the share that was not going towards his parents’ early retirement to the south of France) was disappointingly small.

Although Tobias was an intelligent young man, he had a habit for getting himself into great deals of trouble and only just managed to finish his studies on a “final warning” from all but one of his teachers. Most of his old school reports described him as a promising but hugely mischievous student who was easily frustrated by other people. When questioned about this at home, Tobias proudly announced that his frustration was down to other people being thick. He was sent to bed with out any supper.

Presently, Tobias was planning to properly begin his life in the “adult world”, which he had come to a little late on account of his rebellious behaviour. On his bucket list was a job (preferably at the Ministry), a partner and a cat. Children would come later, if at all, and were not to be prioritised (at least yet).

But despite Tobias’s seemingly foolproof plan for a life in London, his desire for mischief ensured that none of this was ever going to go smoothly.

Roleplay:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:

Tobias couldn't help but roll his eyes when he heard the cries of the young witch. As far as he could see, it was basic common sense to not go tripping over in the middle of the Diagon Alley lunchtime rush but, although somewhat cynical, he was not cruel, and so he stopped and turned his head in the direction of the yelling.

A short, red-headed lady was scrabbling about on the cobbles, desperately trying to recover her shoe. Tobias cast a cursive glance at his pocket watch - a beautiful golden one he’d been given by his grandfather when he passed away - and sighed resignedly. It was at least an hour before he had to be at the lunch date; he had more than enough time to help.

Wishing his parents had raised him to have a less sympathetic heart, Tobias calmly pushed, shoved and wriggled through reams of bodies until he reached the distressed girl. Gently, he reached out a hand towards her and, although she was very clearly not, he asked her in a kind voice;

“Are you alright?”
