Biography: Quintin Arcturus Cabrera come from an ancient family with a wide variety skills. The name Cabrera family is particularly known for their luck. They acquired the majority of their wealth by supporting and funding research in various magical fields. They are an honest wizarding family that prides itself on it’s entrepreneurial ventures and their ability to choose good investments over bad. Some have said that the families over all specialty in Divination has helped them amass the wealth they have and there have been several trials over the misuse of magic for monetary gain against the Cabrera family. However, all such cases were over turned and the innocence and pride of the Cabrera family remains intact.

Quintin, himself, stands at 5’6” has blue eyes and dark brown hair. He stands perfectly at attention even when relaxed and has a commanding demeanor about him. It is as if he is over loaded with confidence. Being part of a family belonging to the wizarding elite he has had little to want for, but has not become spoiled over it. He is outwardly friendly and will try his best to help others when needed. On occasion he has even been known to blame himself for misdeeds of the house hold members and taken their punishment in silence. He is caring of heart and sound of mind.

Quintin grew up in the outskirts of Colwyn Bay near the Gwydyr Forest. His families main estate resides nestled up against the forest and when seen takes the breath away from most wizards involved with potions, magical creatures and other outdoorsy fields. The grounds cover nearly seventy acres of land and contain several animal and plant preserves that the Cabrera’s solely maintain. It is here that Quintin found himself waking up most days. Here where he found himself learning about the wizarding world. Here where he decided on his calling.

Quintin often found himself helping the hired hands take care of stray and injured magical creatures. Often times he would be away from the mansion for several weeks before returning with some new fantastical story to tell his parents. The most recent being how he helped one of the groups working for the family rescue a Common Welsh Green from the trappings of one of the poisonous plants on the preserve. A tale where he mostly stayed back and watched the others work. But he felt apart of it nonetheless.

When Quintin received his letter from Hogwarts he was thrilled! He delved into the book containing the family tree. It had been crafted ages ago with unknown magic. Somehow, the book was tied to the families blood and when opened and the family motto said aloud it would recount the great deeds of the individual on the page as well as a short history about the person. Quintin could be often found sifting through the pages near the fire place in the study saying how he would be greater than this relative or how he aspired to be like another. But when it came to which house he would be in he did not care. He knew from the studying the book that greatness came from within, not which house you were in. But he also knew that he would take pride in which ever house the sorting hat would place him.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
.

Personality:
Quintin is a cheerful person. He is always willing to greet people with a warm smile and a clam expression on his face. In fact you find it hard to recall a time when Quintin has ever gotten angry or sad. Being raised in the outdoors and around magical creatures he has an almost dare-devil like courage when faced with danger. Almost as if he thinks himself immortal. This appearance is only counter acted by his subservience to his professors and their instructions. He does his best to be the perfect student, but he can sometimes be a forgetful person when not rushed or facing a danger of unknown consequences. So far the only dislikes that he has shown is a dislike for hunting magical creatures for trophies.

Appearance:

Quintin is a rather tall boy for his age, standing at 5’6”, he has dark brown hair and green blue eyes that seem to remind you of the ocean during a storm. He powerfully built and appears to be very athletic but you get the feeling that he is not very interested in sports. He walks with a confident and agile stride and appears to be well groomed and clean, in fact almost too clean for a student of Hogwarts.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY

Option II:

“Oh, come now!"

Astrid Bixby’s voice carried down the corridor, the tall blonde girl not far behind. Her interviewee – or victim, depending on perspective – turned a corner and she frowned. They were always so elusive when she needed them. Sure, they would talk as if there was no tomorrow during class, but once she actually needed them to say something, they were nowhere to be found. Gryffindors.

Flustered, Astrid stopped in the middle of the corridor and stared, her parchment hanging limply from her hand. She was a good reporter, really, and she always did her best to make sure that everything she wrote was accurate. She glanced down to the quill, eyeing it with disdain. It wasn’t her fault if her quill misquoted. How was she supposed to know? It made for interesting articles, at least, and if she had misquoted the Head Boy last term as saying he had a love for stuffed animals, then that gave him personality. Astrid sighed.

A pout formed on her lips as she turned away, discouraged. The corridor was mercifully empty, though the doors to The Spellbound – the school newspaper – were ominously closed. Corbridge was a mercifully sweet editor, but Astrid was terrified of disappointing her all the same. She had to come back with quotes.
Her eyes, blue, trailed her surroundings before choosing a new path, and she turned down a new corridor. A figure was ahead, and her eyes lit up, an impossibly rosy smile blossoming across her lips.

“Hey!” Astrid called, her voice light and singsong. She trotted to catch the person, her shoes clicking on the stone floor. “Wait up! It’s for the paper!” Her legs aided her admittedly poor running, and Astrid gasped as she came closer. “What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross.”

Sample Roleplay Response: Quintin was in a rush to get to his room. He still had reading to do and the Quidditch game had lasted longer than he had intended. The halls were empty, as they should be. After all Most of the students and faculty were still celebrating or helping clean up the field. Quintin raced through the halls hoping that he wouldn‘t run into Filch or Mrs. Norris. He wrapped around another corner and saw another student. ‘Odd‘ he thought to himself.

He continued on his way until the girl called for his attention. He halted suddenly, his throat drying out quickly as he thought he might have just been caught and be getting a detention slip. However, shortly after the girl made her intentions clear and he breathed a little lighter afterward. “Frog legs?” Quintin said thoughtfully. “Well I‘ve had them before. They are not that bad. Though I suppose the girls wont like the look of them much. But I found them to be just as fulfilling as eating any other meat. Will that suffice? I‘m kind of in a rush.” he responded quickly but politely to the girl.
