→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Kyra Tellavin

Birthday: December 4th, 1946

Hometown: Swords, Dublin

Bloodline: Muggleborn

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Divination

Year (pick two): Sixth(preferred) or Fifth

Biography:
December 4th, 1946. Kyra was born, many years after her two older siblings had been born and the last child her parents would have.

0, 1. While Kyra would not remember this, the child felt the change of her family when her father died. They crumbled, struggling to complete mundane tasks yet continuing forward. The young girl would feel this sadness, somewhere creating a connection between this and her own existence as she grew older.

2, 3, 4, 5. She grew up like any other kid, an excitement and fear when school would come around, having seen her older siblings leave for the day to go to this mysterious place. It wasn’t too far away, her brother and sister switching off the role of dropping Kyra off at school.

6, 7, 8. Perhaps it was harboring that guilt, or the continued repetition, but Kyra grew quieter, more uncomfortable in her school environment. This weakness and her family would help facilitate some of the bullying, especially as Kyra started experiencing her first signs of magic. The redhead always was adamant about not being a witch or the event not taking place, further distancing herself from the others.

9, 10. Her teacher would notice this withdrawal from the other students and school in general, deciding that teaching her self defense would be a good tool and potentially help her confidence. Math and school in general grew to be more interesting as Kyra would attempt to speed through lessons in order to have more time later to practice and less homework. This was also the first time she debated actually having magic as a scrape closed in record time. Still, she wasn’t willing to tell others about it.

11. Hogwarts- a school for magic. While still shy, the girl opened up easily as she realized that these students were very much like her. She made friends and tried everything out, curious about the school and everything within its walls. Her loyalty grew as her confidence did, much happier than she had been.

12, 13. Still feeling happier, more bad decisions ensue. The girl wakes up from a monster attack, joins a prank club, gets caught up in winning, and almost witnesses the death of another student. Her own conditions seem to deteriorate as she struggles more in school, but continues to participate in the sports and activities.

14. The middle of her fourth year, Kyra got a letter from her family. Whatever the news was, the girl grows more distant from everything, seeming to be so wrapped up in books and learning yet not doing any better in classes.

15. Kyra just didn’t show up at Hogwarts. Why? Her sister was ill, and it was only getting worse. It made more sense for her to help out the family back home instead of staying so far from home. She would continue to keep up with her schooling, but this way the girl could also get a part-time job (with parent permission) and help take care of her family. It was a chance to see her sister for the last time and keep her family together, but her mind continued to wander to the school of magic.

And so, 16. Still in sorrow, but hopes high as the new year starts.

House Request: Gryffindor

Personality:
At first she was shy, but opening up at a school of magic was pretty easy. The girl grew to be full of grins, happy to join in on bad ideas and reckless sports. Now, Kyra seems a little more subdued- wanting to go back to that place of recklessness, but more aware of the dangers. Her outward appearance of relaxed confidence is still there, but shoulders hunch more and there is a general fatigue that follows her.

Appearance:
When it comes to numbers, Kyra is average- height, build, weight, good eyesight. When it comes to appearance, the girl is a little more unusual. Her hair is an easily visible red- auburn, if you care for the exact- that curls and waves to the middle of her back, generally tangled and hastily put up into a ponytail. The eyes are even stranger, a soft blue that shifts more purple depending on the lighting.

Link to your last levels request: C7D4T4S6

Number of New Levels Requested: +5 (4th>5th, 5th>6th, long ways away (+2 Charms, +1 Transfiguration, +2 Summoning/Conjuring))

New Levels Request: C9D4T5S8

How your character kept up with their studies: For her fourth year, Kyra remained at school, so she would have learned through her normal classes. For fifth year, Kyra learned mainly through textbooks, although would travel to Hogsmeade or other (closer) wizarding communities for the weekends to test or practice her spells and potions with an authorized wix. Of course, there were the OWLs then, too, a test that could certainly tell how well she was doing despite not being at Hogwarts.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Response:

Kyra had started to form a habit of wandering the castle grounds- it helped her with stress and whatever thoughts seemed to wander that weren’t necessary for school. Her mind wandered more often now, making walks shorter, but more frequent as weeks went on.

Restlessness brought her to this certain walk, having been in the library and watching as her quill shook and the sentences continued to incoherency. The castle was pretty when all of flowers bloomed, brightening up the normal green, silver, or brown. Really, it was pretty during all seasons now that Kyra decided to think about it. Was there-

A sneeze disrupted her thoughts. She looked over just in time to see the boy smear snot on his robes- a look of disgust flashed by before it was met with confusion. For someone that seemed to be uprooting the flowers, he certainly seemed confident about it. Or just trying not to get in trouble.

“It’s not really polite to destroy someone’s flowers, and yet here ya are.” She noted matter-of-factly, glancing back over to his path of broken flowers and fallen petals. “It seems you need more help than I do.” Not that she’d be willing to let this person help her considering the snot still on his robes, but it got the point across. Blue eyes glanced up to truly meet his, a grin widening slightly.

“So, how may I assist you?” A quick curtsy wobbled afterwards, glancing up once again with that same grin to see just how a plant-destroying, snot-covered student would react.

CHARACTER INFORMATION

Name: Kyra Tellavin

Birthday: December 4th 1946

Hometown: Swords, Dublin

Bloodline: Unknown (Actually Muggleborn)

Magical Strength: Charms

Magical Weakness: Transfiguration

Year: First(preferred) or Second

Biography:
Her mother, Ira, had lived with her father, Charlie, for some time in the Irish town, Swords. She later had three children, two daughters and a son. Her youngest daughter, Kyra, was born a year before her father died. The family went into a disarray, and the young child's mind thought that it was her fault for the mourning family. While her mother and siblings did their best to keep the family together and under control, their quality of life remained the same, enough to survive and live without too much discomfort, but not enough to leave the lower middle class that they were stuck in.

Back to Kyra, though, her mourning and working family hardly gave the young girl much attention. She spent most of her time wandering the calm streets of Swords, glancing into candy shop windows. But she always felt a feeling of guilt over her father's death, despite having only been one.

One of her teachers, noticing her downcast glances and wandering throughout elementary, decided to teach her how to defend herself. For the next few years, she spent her after school hours quickly finishing any homework assigned before joining her mathematics teacher in learning how to properly kick and punch to help her in case she ever got in trouble. While she never found any use for this newfound skill, it did help distract her from the guilt of her father's death.

Her first experiences with magic happened when she had been practicing her self-defense. Practicing one of the kicks, she scrapped herself on one of the nearby desks. The sudden pain had caused her to jerk back, scratching herself further on the desk. The long scratch bled for a bit, before neatly closing itself off right before her eyes. She had glanced up to see if the teacher had seen it as well, but he had been off to the side, unaware of what had happened.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
House Request: Gryffindor

Personality:
Kyra was always the tomboy. She enjoyed playing around in the dirt, as well as learning self-defense. She was generally quite shy, although she would be quite forthcoming whenever she could play sports. Her father's early death and some time on the streets caused her to be a little suspicious of everyone. While she might not have been outwardly showing this, her few close friends illustrated this characteristic. Her shyness allowed her to become very passionate about her interests and some of her opinions (although she was never very good at expressing her opinions).

Appearance:
Kyra was an average height, although slightly underweight. Her thin frame confused some, thinking that she would be weak. The opposite, in fact, was true. While her thin frame might not have allowed her to join any sports, her muscle certainly did.

Kyra has slightly wavy auburn hair that goes to the middle of her back. It is generally tied in a ponytail or bun. She has a soft jawbone with no distinguishing marks asides from her blue, almost purple, eyes.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Response:
Kyra had wished to explore the new potential home. It felt odd to her that after 11 years of living in Ireland, she would have to suddenly move to get a magical education. But if this was her fate, then she knew that she wanted to explore every part of the massive castle before she has to leave. And what better place then to start in the Dungeons. So, having previously been at the entrance, she quickly treaded down the stairs into the basement of the school.

When she was nearing the end of the stairs, she furrowed her eyebrows, stopping suddenly. She was almost sure she had heard something, but she couldn't quite place where it had come from. The young girl crept down the last few stairs, glancing around, before hearing the voice again. It was female. Kyra stood up, glancing at the girl. Although she had never been good at reading emotions, she guessed that the girl was afraid. Examining the room, she could understand why. It seemed dark, and cold below the school. Even the chatter that she had heard one floor above seemed to have dissipated, leaving the Dungeons to remain suspicious. She couldn't understand how people would be willing to live down here.

"Hello. I'm Kyra. Who were you trying to talk to? And why are you down here? It's quite cold." Kyra furrowed her eyebrows, glancing sympathetically at the other young girl. Her curiosity overlooked her shyness, but her suspicious nature held.
