Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Born in London, in one of the shoddiest neighborhoods in the world, Damien was abandoned by his mother at birth when she discovered her husband was a wizard. A nun found him outside in the rain, crying his heart out and burrowing his face in the filthy blanket his mother had wrapped him up in. The woman, a caring, kind and beautiful Seer, recognized him as a magical child and the son of a wizard with dark leanings.  But, because of her nature, she could not simply leave the child out to die. So instead, she vowed to raise him as her own and never let him discover his true heritage lest he turn dark like all the rest.

So he was raised in a Catholic church (ironic, I know) by a group of nuns that absolutely adored him and doted on him. Early on, he was set on the track to priesthood by the pastors and fathers that lent a male voice in his upbringing and he was convinced, for many years, that that was what he wanted. But upon the discovery of his magic (a bit later than usual), he realized that his role in the world was much bigger than he'd originally anticipated. Of course, only his mother, Adrianna Fallan Champ, the nun who raised him, knew of his magical abilities. When the others found out, he was shunned, kicked out of the church and shoved into the streets, cursed as a demon by those who feared the magic he contained. His mother followed him, giving up her vows to protect the boy she'd found on the side of the road.

Together they moved into a flat that Adrianna rented near Hogwarts using the money she was making working in a local shop and she and Damien were ecstatic when he received his letter. Despite money troubles, Adrianna managed to save up enough money to get her adopted son the basic essentials to send him through school. The day after he graduated though, Adrianna passed away of a mysterious magical illness that decayed her mind to a point where she didn't even recognize him anymore. It was this disease that first ignited his interest in the Healing area of study and why he applies now to get a job in the Department of Magical Psychology.

With the timewarp, nothing really changed for Damien. He was already living almost exclusively among wizards and witches and had little to no connections with the Muggle world. He actually wasn't aware that it had happened until a friend of his mentioned something regarding missing her Muggle mother and he was confused about why the woman was gone. His friend then proceeded to explain everything about the warp and the effects on the Wizarding world.

Damien  is really laid back and easygoing, despite his harsh past; he tends to be a joker and doesn't really understand the concept of a 'serious discussion'. Hiding behind jokes is a defense mechanism for him, but he doesn't see it as such; he feels like he's had too many serious things happen in his life to overlook any chance for a joke. He's cocky, but recognizes power and knows when to back down from a fight or argument. He recently discovered that he is bisexual and prefers men which is made difficult by the fact that, due to the timewarp, society is much harsher on homosexual interactions.

"Coming through!"

The double doors burst open as the newly-minted Junior Healer shoved through, dodging the milling patients and staff and leaving behind a trail of parchment. The doors stayed open just long enough to allow a glimpse of the scene beyond - a riot of noise, colours and gesticulating arms - before closing again.

It was Archibald Forrester's first day on the job, and while his professors had warned him it could get hectic at St. Mungo's, he'd never imagined it'd be quite like this. Arms transfigured and somehow regrafted onto someone's head, an Auror coughing up rainbows after a dust-up with a gang of young hooligans in Knockturn, and oh - that patient up on the fourth floor that was running around telling people he was Merlin reborn. And that was just the cases that had come in in the last hour.

It had to be time for his shift to be over, right?

He gave up the lost bits of parchment as a lost cause and cast a frantic Tempus. One minute. Heaving a sigh of relief,  his eyes instantly began darting around to find a convenient on-duty person to hand his load over to. Shoes - bought at the nice medical suppliers and outfitters just down the street - squeaked on the floor as he weaved and skidded around corners, before finally stopping in front of the first figure he found.

"Here. Here are all the charts - the arms for the Transfig patient seem to be morphing into tentacles, and Healer Wilberforce says we need to operate now but needs a second opinion - the Auror's squad captain is outside demanding to know what's been keeping the treatment and uh - "

A few floors up, muffled thumping and howling could barely be heard, but Archie winced anyway.

"Right. Mr. Merlin's somehow gotten hold of a wand and now the entire psych wing believes in him too - for the love of all that's magical, take this, please!"

Roleplay Response:
"Argghh!" Steam rose from tan skin of Damien's left hand which he shook adamantly, jumping from foot to foot. That was the fourth time he'd spilled his coffee today though luckily it was the first that had landed on his skin; perhaps coming in on only three hours of sleep hadn't been such a good idea on his part. Even Brenda had said he looked terrible when he'd rolled out of bed that morning...he hoped she'd be gone when he got home; that was another thing he'd have to take care of. "God my life..." he muttered to himself, elbowing his way through the crowd and heading for a bathroom, his burnt hand clasped in his unhurt one.

Once he arrived in the bathroom, he ran cool water over the burn and let out a relieved sigh as the soothing, cold feeling ran over his heated skin. After a few minutes, he shut off the water and dried the area with gentle pats to the burnt part so as not to break the line of blisters that was forming. Reaching into the bag he always carried with him, stretched across his chest, he pulled out a piece of gauze and a fresh bandage which he quickly applied to the injury. It still hurt, of course, but it was good for now and he had a job to do.

Heading out of the restroom, Damien ran a hand through his hair and sighed, "No more coffee for me." He said, chuckling tiredly as he stepped back into the crowd, navigating with an expertise that only came from having walked these halls many times over. Although it wasn't every day he ran headfirst into a frazzled looking Junior Healer. He barely caught the files that Forrester dumped into his arms before the man was off, his words racing a mile a minute; Damien could barely keep up.

"Whoa my forested friend...slow down!" Damien said, managing to get a proper hold on the files before he smirked at the man who'd given them to him. "I can tell you're not used to the craziness here huh?" Chuckling, he tucked the files under his arm. "I'll give you a few notes of advice. One, don't order older healers around..." He lifted an eyebrow in a significant expression, "...two, don't take more than you can handle and three...." He thought for a moment, "Well I don't actually have a third one." He grinned, "I got this man, but next time, try not to take on so much at once!"

It seemed his day had just gotten busier.
