Biography: (300 words minimum.)

April, 1935

His arms were tightly wrapped around his favourite toy, fingers digging on the stuffed dragon's cloth, so tightly that it hurt - his father had bought it for him during one of his trips. He was practically an adult - he was nine after all, almost ten, still he cherished it like a treasure. It was his partner in crime.

"You have to be a big boy now Deimos, you can do it, right?"  He nodded before burying his face on the toy so his grandfather wouldn't be able to see his watery eyes. He had to be a big boy, big boys didn't cry. Calloways didn't cry, they hadn't cried when after a unfortunate big number of even more unfortunate investments his (not exactly brilliant) great grandfather managed to lose all the family money and influence in an astoundingly short period of time.

No tears had been shed when that had happened, crying would prove that he was weak. He wasn't.

"Do it for Phobos." He had to be a big boy, and an big brother. He had to be so many things he didn't want to be, he just wanted to ran - ran as fast as he could, ran away, but where to go? He lived in a jungle, there was no way out - a labyrinth made of skyscrapers and concrete walls.

His father was gone, not for one of his trips, this time it was forever. "Okay."

February, 1941

"Mister Calloway." Deimos, who had been doodling throughout the whole duration of what he considered to be a terribly boring Transfiguration lesson, put his quill down and looked up to find an impossibly old looking woman standing right in front of him, he had had a discussion with one of his classmates a couple of days ago about how old could this woman possibly be.

They had agreed that she was as old as the school itself.

Innocent, chocolate brown eyes stared right at her. "Yes?" Clearing her throat, the woman pointed at his shoulder. "How many times have I told you that animals are not allowed in my classroom Mr. Calloway?"

Twenty minutes. It had taken the woman twenty minutes to realize that there was a hawk perched on one of her student's shoulder. The corners of his lips curled up, smiling lazily at her. "I have no idea how did this... beast arrive here professor"

"I'm afraid I'll have to give you detention, again." Oh, as if he cared.

July, 1942

"Ouch!" He flinched, bringing his hand to his purple eye as he sent a withering look to his grandmother. A sigh, then he reached for an ice bag. "Ma! I told you not to touch it!" He sunk on the coach, hissing as he did so - everything hurt, his eye, his back, his hands...

"I warned you that boxing would be a terrible idea." How many times had he heard that same sentence, a hundred maybe? He was not going to stop, he liked it, it made him forget about everything. About his father, mother, about his surname that once involved money and power and now was nothing.

And of course, there was another reason why he was not going to stop, a more legitimate one - because he had to know how to defend him - not himself - him, Phobos.

August, 1949

He dropped his bags as soon as he walked through the door, a cloud of dust rose from the floor as he did so. They would need to clean... everything, especially that black thing on the wall across from him that he bet was moving. He turned to face Phobos, a toothpick between his teeth, his hands cocked on his hips, a wide smile on his face. The day was gray - cold and foggy, still Deimos looked as bright as ever.

"So," He clasped one hand on his brother's back. "this is home now, at least for now."

(It wouldn't be easy, to take care of Phobos now that they were so far away from their home, to take care of him when he didn't know how to take care of himself to begin with.)

They would figure it out. They always did.

Roleplay:

Roleplay Response:
Deimos had yet to decide wether he liked London or not, his new home provoked a mixture of juxtaposed feelings, a complex emotion he couldn't quite decipher. It was nice, yet it wasn't as bright as his hometown - New York was bigger, metaphorically and literally. Brighter, taller, warmer. He would need some time to get used to it.

He had Phobos, his old boxing globes and dragons. That was all he had ever needed, the place was an important factor - but not indispensable. It was true that he no longer had his grandparents, but he would have to learn to live without them - he had promised to owl them every week, and they had promised to reply ever single week as well.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

He had been absently fiddling with his favourite lighter (muggles did such ingenious things sometimes) when the call for help of a woman caught his attention. Deimos, ever such a gentleman (a gentleman who used his fists more than he should and found himself talking with dragons on a daily basis - such fascinating but rude creatures they were, they never said anything-) rushed to help her, colliding against a man of immense proportions in his way to help the damsel in distress - not tall enough but certainly very, very wide. "Oh! I'm sorry." He was tempted to say 'I didn't see you' but that would be a terrible lie - the man could be spotted from miles away. The only answer he got was a wordless grunt and a very unfriendly and incredibly fake smile.

Finally, after making his way throughout the crowd (a jungle, full of animals that destroyed everything they came across, ferocious, wild and dangerous-) he spotted the woman who seemed to be in a hurry to find her shoe. The huge elephants (like the immense, rude man) did not seem to care about the desperate ant below them. "Are you okay?"

He did not wait to see wether the woman was going to answer his question or not as he caught a glimpse of something that looked much like a shoe not far away from where they were standing. "I think I saw-" For the second time in less than a minute, he found himself running straight into another body - he was about to apologize when he finally looked at whoever he had bumped into.

It was the elephant. "Seriously? Again?"
