Hm, okay, probably wasn't the wisest idea to post this with my new character because now I can't edit it…

Either way, it's all complete now!

Application for Salem Institute

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Rachel Annette Watson

Birthday: July 4th, 1926

Hometown: Newport, Rhode Island

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Primary II, Primary I

Biography:
When they were younger, all Rachel found herself wanting to be was like her sister.

She liked to watch what her sister did, follow where sister went and sometimes, (mostly when she was alone because for some reason Naomi didn't like her being around), she liked to copy what she saw her sister do.

With only a year between them, Rachel liked to think whatever Naomi could do, she could do too but most of the time it just didn't work like that.

Naomi was taller and bigger so she could take bigger steps, quicker steps and that meant Rachel wasn't fast enough and couldn't keep up. Naomi was stronger which meant she could climb up places and get things that Rachel couldn't reach which meant sometimes she couldn't join in in the game Naomi was playing.

However, being from a well off family, Rachel was never short of toys to play with. Her mother and father would treat her to lavish, expensive gifts. Most of the time without her even requesting them and so, for the young girl it became the norm. Receiving pretty gifts from people was just something that happened and when someone didn't she felt rather affronted and disappointed as if she was being denied a right.

This made her stroppy and demanding.

When they were a bit older, there was three of them.

Naomi liked playing with Rachel now and she liked that a lot better. They played dress up and make overs and performed dances but Naomi always had to be in the middle, even when Rachel asked nicely. She thought that was pretty unfair but Naomi told her it was because she was the oldest and that meant she had to be. And because she was older, that meant she was smarter and so Rachel believed her.

This made her gullible and easily led.

As they got older Naomi was allowed to play outside in the neighbourhood as long as she and Sylvia went too and she took care of them. So they did, hand in hand they walked out from their house into the neighbourhood, bringing their new dolls and dresses and jewellery. The others girls always liked looking at their new things and playing with them and this made Rachel feel special, that because she had money and more toys she was better than the other girls.

This made her look down on other people with less than her.

Occasionally Naomi would ask their mother and father for lessons in magic. For them to show the girls something, teach it them maybe but Naomi was much more interested in it than she was. She liked the magic and potions and broom flying yes, but she liked playing with dolls and dressing up in clothes and doing make up more. This attitude, once she turned 11 and it was her turn to go to Salem, followed with her. Rachel was far more interested in keeping up with her sisters popularity and how she looked than grades and lessons.

Plus, even though she tried she was never as good as the other kids.

This year it was Sylvia's turn to join them and Rachel is excited to have all the girls together. She missed her baby sister desperately and now she'd be right by her side and Naomi would be on the other, just like old times.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

Society Request: Pawn

Personality:

Being the second sister, Rachel always wanted to be everything that Naomi was. However, this made her heavily dependant on her sister. She feels awkward and uncomfortable when put on her own and at a loss of what to say, only regaining her confidence when in the company of Sylvia or Naomi.

She's also a huge showoff. Stemming from her childhood Rachel believes this is the best and only way to make friends and if someone doesn't want to be friends she puts it down to them simply being jealous of what she has. She's also been known to bribe people with things in an attempt to get what she wants.

Always following instructions and believing things her sister has told her has led Rachel to believe quite a lot of silly things without question. Now she links anything said by someone older, (and obviously that meant smarter), with the truth whether she knows the person or not. After all, why would anyone want to trick her?

Rachel isn't often intentionally mean. She tends to point things out in the hope of being helpful but it seems people don't take it the right way if you tell them that their top isn't very nice and definitely doesn't go with their skirt.

Appearance:

Rachel is rather small at around 4"10 which annoys her as she wants to be just as tall as her older sister. Her hair is more of a buttery brown with a gingery tinge to it in the sunlight. She has brown eyes and she really likes her smile which is why she's often smiling when you see her, that or she's daydreaming of kittens. She's also got a rather slim build and rather fair skin that, luckily, tans instead of burns.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
What were partner projects about anyway?

Simon wasn't a loner, but he loathed any type of assignment that required him to team up with anyone. In his book, the only truly trustworthy student was himself. So naturally, when he'd been instructed to team of with a classmate and turn in a research report on the Muggle-American Civil War, Simon had been rather disappointed.

The library that afternoon was deserted aside from Simon and his partner. Before them lay a plethora of textbooks. Wars: Old and New by Kevin Torvalt. When You Say Civil... by Emma Jean. Each book was old and worn even more than the last. In a way, it was almost impressive that the books had lasted this long and still been put to such good use. Simon figured that there weren't many things for which that could be said.

Simon leafed through a copy of Understanding America by Harvey Wires, sighing heavily as each page flipped over on top of itself. He wondered what the student next to him was thinking. He was thinking that this was a drag. These books were probably boring beyond belief, despite their interesting appearance. The library was stuffy from the heat outside. Finally growing too bored from the text, Simon slammed the book shut and sat upright.

"How about I write the essay and stuff? You can just put your name on it. Sound good?"

Please reply to the Sample Roleplay below.

The library was a place she rarely ever found herself. It smelt weird, there were far too many books and the lighting was so awful she could never see herself clearly enough in any of her mirrors. Not to mention it was always filled with weird people and they sort of creeped her out more than she liked to say.

However, she had been put in a group with these 'creeps' and that meant they were probably going to make her contribute something like they always did. Rachel didn't like group work, she didn't like work at all. This was the main reason why she was pouting moodily as she made her way into the library, making sure not to touch anything as she made her way directly to the seating area her partner had said to meet her in.

"I made it!" She cheered aloud, giving a little clap of success before perching on the arm of a nearby chair. "Ooh, did you already start?"

The boy was holding a book that looked well, boring. It was a big one and it was covered in dust and it said something about America on the front and honestly she had never read anything thicker than a magazine. And even then she mostly only looked at the pictures.

"How about I write the essay and stuff? You can just put your name on it. Sound good?"

Rachel's mouth fell open. Was she really getting off the hook? She squealed again, almost ready to hug the boy but thinking better of it because she didn't know where he'd been. Not to mention green was most definitely not his colour, or in this season for that matter.

"Could you write my name on it too? It's just, well, it'll save me the hassle of coming to find you again."

Her eyes were now pinned to his shirt and the way it clashed so awfully with his skin tone and her lip curled slightly.

"You know, you really shouldn't wear green…"
