Hometown: Dunedin, New Zealand

Bloodline: Halfblood

Biography:

Louise Holland was born a day after her father died in a train accident. Mr. Holland was coming home to be there for his fourth child and only daughter's birth. Sadly, he was not able to see his precious girl. News arrived to the Holland household hours after the fourth Holland child was born.

Louise earned her name because she got her father’s eyes. She filled her hunger for a father figure from her brothers and mother’s stories. Despite the longing for a father, Louise grew up to be a lovely girl surrounded with the love of her family and the neighborhood they lived in.

When it came to their magical blood, she grew up aware of their blood status. Also they lived with a wizarding community. So it did not come as a surprise to the household when she showed signs of magic through an accidental show of changing the color of her pen. This was even strengthened when the letter from Hogwarts arrived in the house.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Wherever she fits best

Personality: Outspoken, Artistic, Friendly, and Confident

Louise is friendly and has never been shy. She may come as arrogant but that was just her confident side showing through. She can easily make friends, however, other people may see her confidence as intimidating, making other people feel inferior to her. She has her principles and is not afraid to stand for what she believes is right. This also makes her earn some enemies, especially when people fail to control her or make her give in to their demands.

Her artistic personality runs in the family. All of her brothers do one thing or two of the same. Music is one of them. From what she knew, her father is a good musician while her mother has a good voice. As a result, the Holland children grew up learning music as well as hone other skills and hobbies such as reading books and learning new languages.

Appearance:

Louise was never a person who is big on appearances. Standing at 145 centimeters, the young Holland sports green eyes, which she got from her deceased father, and dark brown, wavy hair. She usually like to keep her hair down but she always have a scrunchie on her hand to tie her hair up when the situation arises. Due to her outgoing personality and with her three older brothers, Louise also acquired a bit of a tan from playing sports with them - both Muggle and Wizarding sports.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

The view of the Hogwarts Garden from the North Towers was beautiful. So peaceful and serene. Louise was perched on one of the windowsills with her guitar on her lap. She was absentmindedly strumming to another song that she discovered during the holiday break. The rose deliveries were done so the young young Holland took advantage of the extra time she had before dinner. Sure, she could hang out in the lounge or at the common room but since the rose delivery commotion was still in the works, the girl made use of the solitude the tower offered.

Running her fingers through the strings, she started another song. It was the same song that she had played back at home with her brothers. It was the same song that her father always played when her mother was still pregnant with her. This time, after looking back to the stairs and ensuring that nobody came up, Louise sang along. She got lost in her singing that she did not notice tears already streamed from her eyes. Right as the last chords faded away, she laughed softly to herself as she wiped them away. “I miss you, Dad. Feels like I’ve known you all my life when I never held your hand.”, she said softly, her words carried by the wind to wherever it may blew.

Hi Louise and welcome to our site!

I loved reading your application! However, your sample roleplay, while it was also a wonderful read, does not respond to either of the two prompts provided in the application form.

If you could please repost your entire revised application below and instead respond to either Evangeline in Option 1 or to Hugh in Option 2, we'll be glad to give your application another look!

Thank you

RESPONSE TO OPTION 1

The dungeons was not a bad place at all. Sure it smelled damp and felt cold but to Louise Holland, the dungeons was like an escape from the reality. A place where everything is muted out where all the sounds from above the castle where muffled. Aside from the North Tower, the young Holland also frequented the lower levels, especially when she needed time to think yet wanting to exercise as well. She loved running outside but now was not the time to do it. It had been raining all day and she had no choice but to get her tennis ball and bounced it back and forth against a wall in the lower levels. The sound would just echo and not too many people would hear it nor got hit by it.

The thumping of the ball against the wall increased in speed as Louise challenged herself in catching it in unexpected angles. She was already sweating and her hair was tied up in high ponytail. She paused to wipe off her brows as well as brushed a few wisps of hair away from her eyes. Throwing back her ball again, she seemed to heard a voice that bounced along the walls. Louise had heard of the ghost but paid no attention to the stories. This is the wizarding world and in this world, they exist. However, the voice that reached the girl made her stop as she caught the words, asking for the presence of the rumored ghost. Louise made her way to the source of the sound, walking slowly while bouncing the ball against the ground.

She continued walking until she happened upon a girl much older than her. Louise knew her by name. Evangeline. Louise stopped a few feet from the other girl, catching the ball in her hand. “Well,I’m no Emma Birch but she might be around here somewhere. I can help you look for her,if you want.”, she replied jokingly. She waved her hand in greeting at the blonde girl.

Hi, Louise!

Thanks for writing that RP sample, your application is all good now. One small thing I just noticed is that you give your preference as first year. While we aim to try and give people their first choice, sometimes this isn't always possible, so we ask that people put a secondary preference too. Usually, people choose consecutive years (e.g. 1st year (preferred), 2nd year), but it's entirely up to you.

Could you let me know what your second choice of year would be if you couldn't get 1st year? No need to repost your whole application, just post your choice below and then we can get you accepted.

Thanks!
look out! look out!
'CAUSE EACH TIME I FALL
I'LL BE CRASHING DOWN

Head of Ravenclaw
do you remember the twenty-first night of september?
love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away
our hearts were ringing in the key that our souls were singing
as we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away
