Biography:

Little Elladora Dahlia Price was born on a very sunny day in a small house in Scarborough to Dahlia and Peter Price, who was a shoemaker. Dahlia was just eighteen when her daughter was born. Dahlia’s family wasn’t very wealthy, neither was Peter, but it only made Dahlia's parents more determined to marry off the girl to someone who was worthy. Dahlia had an older sister, Elladora, whom disappeared when Lia was just seven years old. She was told that the girl would never come back and was forbidden to speak of her ever again. The family continued to live as if Elladora never existed, dedicating all the time and resources to raising Dahlia to become a lady.

When Lia met Peter, she was just seventeen. She went to the local shoemaker to get her dancing shoes fixed and Peter was there. He was a couple years older and they fell in love instantly, even though Dahlia’s parents already had plans to marry her off to Vincent van Duke, a handsome and semi-rich son of a merchant.

The family didn’t allow the marriage between Peter and Dahlia to happen, so the young couple ran off and got married in secrecy. The girl moved in with her husband and was banned from ever coming back to her childhood home. That was when her sister visited her for the first time in years, only to inform her she was alive, but it was better if they didn’t stay in touch. Despite being happy to learn her sister was fine, Dahlia’s heart broke again when her sister left.

Eleven months after they got married, Elladora was born. She grew up in a household full of love, until her father was deployed and had to travel to the continent to fight in the war. Dahlia’s heart broke again and although she tried to be strong for her daughter, the savings weren’t enough to provide for the family, so the woman had to start working, which she had never done before. She learnt to cook and took up a job in the local tavern, working night shifts and only coming home to sleep. With her father fighting on the continent and mother being too tried to work at home, Ella appointed herself the new head of the household and when she wasn’t going to school, she would help her mother clean and cook.

Four years later, in 1945, Peter finally came back from the war, but he wasn’t the same person anymore. The war had changed him and he felt like he missed a lot, not being there for his daughter and wife. However, he tried hard to get back his family and soon Dahlia was pregnant again, giving birth to a son a couple of months later.

Ella’s little brother was still a baby, when she received a letter from Hogwarts.

Personality: Ella is a hard working girl, who can be very practical is she needs to be. She knows her way with money, she learnt to trade goods and knows her ways to charm people to sell their products cheaper. She doesn’t have many friends because of the bad press her grandparents had gotten the family and the fact that she didn’t have time to play after school, because she had to help her mother.

Appearance: Ella has dark, green eyes and brown hair. The green eyes she got from her aunt, although she never saw the woman, just her pictures that her mother managed to hide from her parents, before they disowned Elladora. She is rather skinny and fit; she can run really fast if she has to.

Used to living in a small countryside house, everything about Hogwarts was just too grand for the little witch. The endless amount of stairs, the portraits lurking from every corner of the castle. At first she didn’t feel quite at home, but then Ella discovered the kitchens and everything had changed. At first the house elves weren’t very fond of the girl, who just wouldn’t leave them alone and always wanted to know what they were baking and cooking. Soon they learnt there was nothing to fear. Eventually they accepted Ella’s presence and after a couple of weeks she managed to talk the house elves into baking her a jar of cookies that she was going to share with other girl in the dormitory.

That was another thing that was so different from living in Scarborough; Ella actually managed to make friends, when she didn’t have to work all the time. She knew cookies were the best way to show her friends how much she appreciated them.

With a jar in her arms, she left the kitchens, waving the house elves goodbye. The trip through the dungeons didn’t scare Ella at all – she was used to spending every night alone, before her father came back from war. But it was the prefects and professors she would rather avoid. What if they confiscated the jar? The brunette tried to walk on her tiptoes, moving rather slow down the corridor, when she heard someone’s voice. She froze, pressing the jar to her chest, “Emma is upstairs, I heard her talking to her friends. They are… studying for the Charms exam,” she informed the mysterious voice from the shadows, hoping whoever it was, they would go away.
