Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Wendela Vane-Liang

Birthday: 4 October 1934

Hometown: Liverpool

Bloodline:  Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Transfiguration

Year (pick two): 1st, 2nd

Biography:

SUBJECT: Euphemia, a.k.a. My Not-Sister

Why did Effy only get one last name? Who decided this? I think it might be a conspiracy.

Effy also doesn't seem to have a dad. So where did she come from? Mum had the babies talk with me already - ages ago - but I still call this into question because I don't like it when I don't know things.

Holy cats, what if Effy's father is a centaur? (I always knew Aunt Aggie was a little off, but--)

Must ask Effy if she ever has dreams about having hooves.

-----

SUBJECT: Delia "Mum" Vane, something something do your chores.

I'm pretty sure Mum is a golddigger, and the only reason she had me was because my dad has really good facial structure.

(What? He does. It's very symmetrical.)

I'm pretty sure, because she owns a fancy silk scarf. Who owns fancy silk scarves? Golddiggers who got them from wealthy gentlemen callers, that's who.

-----

SUBJECT: My dad, or "Dad." Never "Daddy" or "Father" - just "Dad."

He takes me to the market sometimes. I never have enough pocket money for most things, but one time he bought me a silver fish necklace. I don't even like fish? I mean, I like them as food. It's pretty much all we eat. But I think maybe he expects me to be friends with fish (what?)?

Maybe he thinks I'm a mermaid? Or really interested in mermaids? Do I seem like a girl who really wants fins or something? Does he know how mean mermaids are? I don't think he knows. I'm going to tell him.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: I very much doubt she'd be a very good Hufflepuff; she's quite unfair in her judgments. I'm going with either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor.

Personality: Prone to hyperbole and jumping to conclusions, Wendela tends to create chaos and drama wherever she goes. Ironically enough, she is also very organized and deliberate - she rarely does anything by accident. She tends to live her life as if she is performing it for an audience, and often, her antics warrant one. If she decides you're her friend now, you're pretty much stuck with her, even if she still brings up that time you ate her muffin three years ago.

Appearance: Wendy has gained many of her facial features from her father, as well as the characteristic Vane brown eyes and raven hair. At eleven, she is just shy of the four-foot mark, and will likely remain so until she hits another growth spurt.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

SUBJECT: Hugh Bloody Ratboy. Arch-nemesis. Bane of her very existence.

Wendela had been studying him for some time - his habits, his schedule - and in her observation that day, Merlin squirming free of the boy's grasp and skittering out of the hall did not escape her attention. Standing abruptly and offering a polite excuse me to her housemates, she calmly followed the rat outside, taking care not to be seen until she was ready to be.

That boy's poor excuse for a rat had always had a thing for hers, you see - she had found Dandelion in the same empty classroom as Merlin, once, and nearly passed out from the shock. That had been the first, and last, straw. Dandelion was far too pretty for the likes of Merlin.

Wendela waited until Hugh had decided to make an appearance, then emerged from behind a particularly fragrant bush, staring daggers at the older, taller boy.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

"You must have known this day would come, Hugh."

Wendy began to pace before him, up and down the garden path, hands clasped behind her. She turned her head as necessary, unrelenting in her staredown of the ignominous boy. She wanted him to know exactly what he'd done wrong. After she was certain (--as certain as an eleven-year-old girl could be--) that he was sufficiently worn down from waiting, Wendela turned on her heel and wagged her finger at him.

"Your little Merlin has terrorized my Dandelion for the last time."

In truth, Wendy had not actually kidnapped Merlin - that would be downright cruel - but she had seen him scamper off to the other end of the garden, near the daffodils, far from where Hugh was searching. That was enough to make her threat seem wholly legitimate.

"Well? What do you have to say for yourself?"
