Biography: (100 words minimum.)

What was it with parents abandoning their kids? It was a plague. Some would call it a tragedy, but Charlie just called it life.

With a father who was too big for small town life, and a mother too ill to live outside of her own mind, Charlie was brought up by his grandparents in Salem, Massachusetts. They weren’t much, if he was honest. They were too hung up on their daughter’s frail mental state to ever pay their grandson too much attention. Old-Fashioned muggles, they didn’t understand the magical world he was a part of. They cared for him decently enough, but there was only so much love you could feel when someone wouldn’t quite look you in the eye.

But he spent most of the year away at Salem Institute. And he spent much of his summers hopping from friend’s house to friend’s house, sleeping where ever he could lay his head. He got into his fair share of trouble, but his grandparents brushed it away with the wave of a hand and a ‘boys will be boys’ mantra.

Charming and smooth talking when he needed to be, good looks stemming from good genes, he got away with a lot. Not spoiled at home, he was still very accustomed to getting whatever he wanted. And taking it when it wasn’t handed to him. He had a good few years at Salem.

And then something so predictable happened. He’d never been good at Divination, but he should have seen it coming anyway. His Grandparents left him. In the most permanent way. An icy road and a fast moving car, and they were gone. And Charlie, underage and with a mother unable to take care of him, was shipped off to live with his dear old dad. He wasn’t optimistic about the man, but who cared?

He took care of himself just fine. He always had.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Charlie shoved his hands into his jacket pockets and walked around the park. If his dad thought sending him to some kiddie park was a good form of entertainment, he had another thing coming to him. He was 16, not 6. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes, he let one dangle from his lips without lighting it up right away.

He was running low on them, and, being new to town, didn’t have a hook up for them yet. In fact, he hadn’t gotten into much trouble yet at all. The park seemed so peaceful and serene, but all he could think about was how to shake things up around there and make it a little more exciting. When someone shouted at him, he spun around and frowned.

"...Do you want to play?"

Did he want to play? Who the hell let their child just run around and talk to strangers? A smirk curled on his lips and he shook his head, “Little girl, you don’t want to play games with me.”
