Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Olette was born the second child of Patrick and Louisa Clarington-DuPont. While her older brother, Killian, showed magic tendencies from a young age, Olette did not. However, her parents weren't deterred, as with their rich pureblood background, it was sure to show up eventually. However, it never did. Once it became evident that Olette was never going to be able to go to Hogwarts and perform magic, she was kicked out of the house. She had suspected it for a while, and knew her parents feelings about it, and had been packed up before her birthday.

Of course, Olette had nowhere to go. Any 'friends' she had were from other pureblood families with similar ideals to her own, and they certainly wouldn't want any association with a squib. She would find places she could get a room for a night off her charm, or by dropping her name. But that didn't last long.

She eventually wound up going to the children's home. While everything there was nice and lovely, she  usually only used it as a place to sleep if she couldn't find anything else. Olette always keeps a backpack with necessities with her, as she never knows where she might end up by the end of the day, not liking to stay in the same place too long.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

It was a rather nice day out and a day that wasn't meant to stay cooped indoors. Though, to be honest, what day was? Olette grabbed her backpack for a day of roaming around Hogsmeade. It hadn't been that long since she'd been homeless. (Even though she had the children's home, it didn't feel like a home).

She had started carrying a notebook in her backpack recently. She knew one thing she wanted to do was travel the world. Who was going to stop her? She'd never be able to apparate, but there was always floo powder. The notebook was used to write anything that came to her mind. She supposed it was like a diary of sorts. Any goals and places she wanted to go, what she saw on a day to day basis, things like that.

Today, she was walking past the park and noticed some boys flying around on brooms. She knew about Quidditch, and had thought it looked fun, but now she'd never play. There was a young girl running behind them on a safety broom, before throwing it down in a tantrum.

“You! … Do you want to play?”

Olette was slightly taken aback. Play? Like what? At least it seemed this little girl didn't have enough magical skill, so Olette wouldn't have to worry about that.

“I... uh, I suppose so. Anything in mind? Also, you should probably be nicer to your toys. You got a bit of lift on it, so that was good! You'll get the hang of it.” She smiled at the girl. This little girl had at least gotten further on a broom than Olette ever had.
