Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Odette Margaux Girard was born on  31st July 1919 to an upper class half-blood family. She is the second oldest out of three children born to Francine (nee Lenton) and Jean-Paul Girard, a former secretary and auror respectively. She grew up on the British estate of her father’s family, located just outside London. Whilst her father’s family is very wealthy and has beginnings dating back to 11th century France, many members of the Girard family can now be located in Britain and the United States as well as France. The Girards are known for being skilled aurors and hit wizards as well as successful businessmen and influential politicians.

When the time-warp occurred and Wizarding France broke ties with Wizarding Britain, the Girard family remained loyal to the Resistance, sending many of it’s family members; current, former and trainee aurors to fight the Hexenreich. Members of the Girard family based in France became undercover spies for the Resistance and passed on information about Hexenreich to the British Ministry. For the whole of the Girard family it was not just about defeating the Hexenreich but also about keeping the family stable. Königsmann saw the Girard family as an important asset to Hexenreich however he was never aware that the family was undermining his plans from the inside out. Today, the Girard family likes to align itself neutrally when it comes to politics but they will always fight for the ‘greater good’. The do not associate themselves directly with the Social Reconstruction Committee but donated huge sums of money to the project when it was first established to restore Wizarding Britain. The family may be ancient and wealthy, but they do no tolerate racial prejudice and do not care entirely about blood status.

Back to Odette though; she was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and sorted into Gryffindor house. The Sorting Hat was very undecided between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor but eventually chose the latter. Odette’s older brother of three years, Gilles, was sorted into Ravenclaw whilst her younger sister, Alice, was sorted into Slytherin two years later.

At school Odette showed much potential and quickly grew to be the top in her class. She enjoyed and became skilful at transfiguration as well as defence against the dark arts but was woeful at divination and herbology, immediately dropping the subjects when she could. Her hobbies included playing quidditch, chess and reding books on transfiguration as well as tutoring younger students in transfiguration.

In Odette’s fifth year she became prefect before becoming Head Girl in her seventh and final year. Not everything was smooth sailing however. During seventh year, the matriarch of the Girard family passed away and her parents got divorced, tarnishing the Girard family’s ego a little. Upon graduating Odette wanted to become an auror or hit wizard however the majority of her male family members frowned upon it and discouraged her from joining. Her father who was still an auror at the time, went so far as to fail his daughter when she was being tested. Odette and her father have been at each other’s throats ever since he interfered with his daughter’s training.

Since then Odette has kept a low profile and has served as the assistant to the Senior Undersecretary for a number of years. However she’s getting restless of the same scenery and wants to do greater, bigger things, even if it means going behind her father’s back and damaging the family name...

Roleplay:
Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.
And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.
"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.
"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.
"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
The snow really was beautiful. A sign that winter was officially upon them. Odette loved snow and all things winter as much as the next person. She therefore decided to join in with the crowds at Diagon Alley who would inevitably be celebrating the change in weather. Some window shopping, banking and a cup of hot chocolate would go down nicely Odette thought as she walked down the main road of Diagon Alley, dressed suitably fashioned for the season. Her boss had notified her earlier to say that he didn’t need her presence and that she was free to do whatever suited her.

As Odette stopped for a mere second to glance in the window of a shop, she was suddenly bumped into by an extremely flustered and agitated man covered in coloured tinsel. She gasped at the man as he looked sorry for what he had done. She nodded before suggesting politely, “Perhaps you should slow down and take care when you’re trying to levitate something in the air...”

Hi Odette, and welcome to the site!

Your application's coming along nicely, there's just a few things we'll need you to edit before we can get you accepted.

Firstly, you mention that Odette's occupation is Assistant to the Senior Undersecretary. For your initial application, it would be best if you could keep Odette's occupation as something more vague e.g. Ministry employee or simply an administrative assistant. The position of Assistant to the Senior Undersecretary is a very specific job and it may not be available at this time. Once you've been accepted, you may apply for that specific position in the Ministry check-in/sign-up thread, and the Ministry admins will work with you from there to see if that position would be plausible or not. For now, please remove all mentions of Odette's position as Assistant to the Senior Undersecretary from your application, as we cannot guarantee you will get that position.

Secondly, you mention that the Girard family acted as spies for the Resistance and passed information about the Hexenreich to the Resistance. While this is totally fine and you don't need to change this, I just want to let you know that you'll need to check with the admin team first if you decide to elaborate on any specific information that the Girard family passed on to the Resistance in any future threads. This is so that you do not accidentally undermine or contradict any plots that have already occurred. Furthermore, you mention that "Königsmann saw the Girard family as an important asset to Hexenreich however he was never aware that the family was undermining his plans from the inside out." Königsmann was never directly involved with any Hexenreich members and operated entirely through his second-hand man to maintain secrecy. You'll need to remove the above sentence from your biography to keep in line with the site plot here.

You also claim that: "At school Odette showed much potential and quickly grew to be the top in her class." You'll need to edit this to read that she "quickly grew to be one of the top in her class", so that you are not undermining any other played students who actually earned Valedictorian and Salutatorian titles in the years that Odette was at school.

Finally, you write that: "Her father who was still an auror at the time, went so far as to fail his daughter when she was being tested." If you could edit this to be a little more vague (e.g. something along the lines of "Her father, who was still an Auror at the time, was ultimately the reason that she failed her final tests"), this would be more in line with how we envision the Auror training process to work. It's unlikely that Odette's father would be the sole decider of Odette's failure, but keeping things more vague in this way would allow for her father to be at least a partial cause whilst maintaining plausibility.

Once you have made the required changes, please repost your entire revised application below, and we'll be more than happy to take another look. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact myself or another admin. Thanks!
