Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Aoife is the eldest of four children, thus far, born to Aoifen and Saoirse Duncan. The family resides in modified home in the Highlands mountainous region of Carnoch, Scotland, secluded and surrounded by rivers, streams, and other waterways coming out of the loch kilometers up the valley. In summer, which lasted only a month or so at altitude, there were fields of flora stretching down the mountainside. And in winters, which were prolonged into May sometimes, snow could reach a meter or more thick.

As a dragonologist, her father once cared for unwell and stunted dragons on the doorstep of the family home, in pens on the property. When Aoife was two, however, a young, brooding Hebridean black (only able to keep one dragon on the premises at a time for their aggressive natures) nearly killed her. Severely burned for coming too near the enclosure while wobbling after a common dragonfly, her screams luckily drew her mother who’d been putting the wash on the line beside her darling year old sister. Dittany immediately applied, Aoife’s life was saved but she’d spend more than two weeks in St. Mungo’s being treated with burn-healing paste that could then only reduce the inevitable scarring across her back, left hip and shoulder. The melted flesh wasn’t pretty to look at, but it didn’t hamper her day-to-day activity. By the time she was released from the hospital, the heaped pile of cards, chocolate frogs, and love was bigger than she was, given to her by a parade of cousins, aunts and uncles that had come to visit.

Aoifen took the dragon and any others he’d kept afterward nearer to the coast where they were able to nest naturally under the cliffs’ eaves going forward. In later years, Aoife’s love of the beasts eased the guilt that plagued her father and he managed to move on from the incident only for the grace she’d shown in her recovery.

In a family where temperaments vary widely, Aoife is a constant. Whether she recalls more than the intense heat or not, there’s an air of thankfulness that’s ever-pervasive around her. She’s growing into a lass who can’t be bothered to have a bad disposition or think poorly of others. She’s kind, compassionate, empathetic, adores her younger brothers and dotes on them. In the greater Duncan wizarding clan, Aoife is a ray of sunshine through whatever torrential downpour that may be imminent for others’ histrionics. A peacemaker. Optimistic, upbeat, and logical even at eight years old, she’s a reminder that beauty is more than skin deep.

Most recently, Saoirse has taken a job as a seamstress in a Diagon Alley robe shop and has enrolled Aoife and her two siblings at AB&C Daycare where they spend their days, until 2p.m..

(Aside: As of yet, Aoife’s not produced any spontaneous magic.)

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
“You,” came the girl’s terse voice. “…Do you want to play?”

The boys ran off without her, Aoife’s laughing for the near miss in their game of tag diminishing only marginally by the unexpected acquaintance (out of curiosity, not impatience). The oldest of the three Duncan children’s outstretched arm had been narrowly dodged by a boy whose hair color precisely matched hers.  Activity rooting a smile on her aspect that couldn’t be dislodged, the girl’s charismatic and good-natured blue eyes turned to the affected unknown.

“Sure! Would you like to join us, or would you like to play at something else? I’m Ee-fa,” Aoife said, inviting the opportunity to see what this potential new friend might prefer to do. Seeing the upside down broom off to the side, she amended, “Do you have a quaffle we could pass between the four of us while riding?”

They would have to go and get their broomsticks from their mum really quickly, but that wouldn’t take but a tick. The boys, who’d been far more flummoxed by the interruption, were dawning enthusiasm. The three siblings now shared a striking resemblance when clearly the warm welcome had been established initially only by the elder sister, lately adopted by the twins. It would be fun having someone new to play with! Usually, the three were content in their own small grouping when their sister wasn’t away at their cousins’ house for the day.

Hi, Aoife!

Your application looks good, there's just one thing I want to draw your attention to before we can get you accepted.

For things like excessive scarring, you'll need to submit a special request. You can find the special request form here -- you'll need to fill it out and PM it to an administrator for approval.

If your special request is accepted, we'll then process your application as normal. If not, you'll need to edit your biography accordingly. Thanks!
look out! look out!

I'LL BE CRASHING DOWN
RIGHT THROUGH YOUR ARMS
