His father is the lion. Someone strong, loud, and with not a lot of sense in his head, but he was always there to protect those that he loves. There are times he resents his father. Not over the small things, but the moments in which he acted before he thought of others. The times when he did things and never really explained his actions. He had felt that way when his father joined the military. He had only been three, but he remembered that look on his mother’s face when he had appeared in uniform that first time. There was fear. Then he felt dislike for his father for the first time.
He did not like it when his mother was afraid.
He did not like it when any of his family was afraid, sad or angry, but it happened and he knew he could do nothing more than be there.
Perhaps too wise for his age, or pessimistic, but he is determined to be a strong figure so that others wouldn’t worry over him, especially his family. He has observed them enough to know how they react when they’re worried. His father would get louder when he was worried. Throwing out jokes and attempting to brush it off, or fix it however he could. His brother would become thoughtful, and quiet. Analyzing the situation, and trying to understand it. His mother’s worry was a little harder to pin down. She is the scorpion. Sometimes she would react at that moment in a quick burst of emotion, and other times she was quiet waiting for the right moment to react. She was similar to her father in that they both acted on impulse at times. Both were emotional, compulsive, and stubborn but they knew how to protect what is theirs. His mother was stronger than his father though, or at least that was how he saw it.
His brother is the virgin. Wide-eyed and curious, he finds most enjoyment in catching and watching bugs. Something that Oswald will voluntarily and happily join in on to help. As the older brother, his first job is to protect Nicholas. A job he had never shirked away from. His brother’s wide-eyed curiosity was not something he wanted to be lost with the years. His sister is the water-bearer. Too young to really know what she'll be like as she's older but she smiles and gurgles happily in everyone's arms. He hoped she grew to be just as happy as she is now.
Perhaps Oswald was too serious for his age, but he had to be.
If he wanted to be strong, he had to be ready for anything, and he would. Roleplay:Reply as your character to the following:
Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.
Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.
It trudged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.
"John, I said wait up
!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.
Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.
Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby. "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.
"...Do you want to play?"Roleplay Response:Oswald was currently attempting to find his brother. They had come to the park together certainly, but with his father getting distracted by colleagues at the ministry, Nicholas had gone off first and Oswald had followed after being unsuccessful in getting his father's attention. Though he supposed, his father just assumed that Oswald would take care of Nicholas, and of course he was right.
Ozzy had always been protective of his siblings. Certainly Tiril was a new addition to the family that did not do much but gurgle and babble, but they all started like that.
Going by logic, his brother was doing one of two things. Either practicing on his broom, or finding bugs. Which really did not narrow down where he needed to search, but he would try first with others that were currently on brooms. Or well one girl he was observing that was having difficulties with trying to fly in the first place, and was now about to have a temper tantrum.
He responded with a deadpan expression, "Me..."
"...Do you want to play?"
He blinked at her, looking at the upturned broom and then back at her blue eyes, "Depends..." He started frowning, "Are you asking, or demanding?" OTHER
